Hi Jon
Are the coopers any good? At that price I guess there will be a compromise
between cost and performance but at more than half the price of the better
know brands its got to be a winner.
After all the advice from the board I went home jacked up the passenger side
and grabbed the wheel top and bottom and guess what clunk, click as it
visibly rocked back and forth. Hmmm! As I did not have all the bits yet I
restrained myself from pulling it all apart there and then but opened up the
grease point on the knuckle and stuck a screwdriver in. It came out oily
and no grease so where has all the grease gone as it was half full a month
ago???? Could it be sucked into the diff and that would explain the fact
that the diff is filling up with sludgy gunk?????
Anyway I have ordered all the bits to do the wheel bearing and the oil seals
for both sides and will get onto it next week. So the car is now off road
and I get to drive the wife's new Saab Convertible. Yes!
Total cost ?106 + bits and bobs.
