Just done a 2"pedders lift on my cruiser,think i need some bigger tyres now,currently running on cooper 265/65/18 a/t,i would like to keep the 18"rims on ,any suggestions on a larger tyre size please

OK, first, personally I wouldn’t recommend you going as big as 35”

Given the constant of 18” diameter rims, your current rolling diameter is about 31”.

If you keep the width the same (265mm) but go up to 70% profile (you have 65% at present) you’ll have a rolling diameter of about 32”.

If you go a bit wider to 285mm, with 70% profile, you’d get a rolling diameter of 34”.

I can’t guarantee they wouldn’t rub mind, but some others might be more familiar with what matches with a 2” lift.

I think if you want to keep your 18" wheels and you want bigger tyres, then your choice is somewhat limited, as most of the "bigger" sizes are only small increments to what you already have.

Your current size is
265/65R18 - diameter 80.2 cm / 31.6 inches

You can use this handy (visual) size calculator : http://www.kouki.co.uk/utilities/visual-tyre-size-calculator to check out various size options against your standard wheels. Next step would be make sure that they are actually available in that size for 18 rims.

https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyres-265-70-18/

For example, a few options;

265/70R18 - diameter 82.9 cm / 32.6 inches

275/65R18 - diameter 81.5 cm / 32.1 inches

275/70R18 - diameter 84.2 cm / 33.1 inches

285/65R18 - diameter 82.8 cm / 32.6 inches.

305/60R18 - diameter 82.3 cm / 32.4 inches.

Add : Personally, I would probably sell the 18" rims and buy a set of 16" - where there's loads of choice in tyre sizes. Plump for a nice set of 285/75R16s and jobs a good'un.

P.S. Ignore Shayne - he's just showing off!! :icon-wink: :lol::lol::lol:

Shayne has the same approach as me when it comes to wheels and tyres. The first time I met him, it was only a matter of hours before he was trying one of my 80s spare 305/70/16s on 10" steels on his 90.

Luv-at-first-sight it was :lol:

i agree with Clive about the 33's on a 2'' lift as optimal
i had a 3'' lift with 35's,no problem with clearance
now i've changed to a 2'' lift my 35's are rubbing quite easily on the front
33's will be ordered soon,otherwise i'll destroy my front wheel arches...
