RE: Siping.
Not just in North America, but those who travel in most of the
European mountain ranges will find tyre dealers who will do the job
for a fee. Though its all hand work and not cheap - but worth it.
And I know I am a tad off topic here but...
BFG's: For those who can't afford them but would like tyres of
similar construction and (alleged) quality. Then Bridgestone have a
Turkish subsidiary called Lassa. They make all the Bridgestone range
in all the sizes but give them different names of course. (But not
the Dueller before you all start the old jokes again!). If any of
you have been to Turkey then you will know its very definitely run by
the military, so its very easy to see that most of their vehicles run
on these tyres. (Apart from Unimogs they use almost exclusively Land
Rovers made in the country).
The AT version that I have is called the 'Competus' and performs well
at budget cost. They are available in the UK as well as in Europe.
