Valve shim removal tool

I'm looking to tackle checking the valves on my 80 next week, which
having the old 1HD-T uses shims.
Has anyone come across a 3rd party tool for depressing the valves so
that the shims can be removed?
I've done the shims before on similar engines, but have always removed
the cam shaft, but would prefer not to if I don't have to.
I know that Toyota do a tool, but am wondering if there is a 3rd party
tool for doing it?

They may well be in spec, but they haven't been touched for 150,000 miles so a little overdue and I'm getting some rattling from the top of the engine that is either the valves or injectors - either way I am going to check and service the lot: valves, injectors, injection pump and the big end bearings for good measure.
Thinking about it, since I am doing the injection pump I am half way to taking out the cam so might just do it that way.
Cheers,
Julian

Hi Julian,
I haven't tried it and have absolutely no idea if it would work, but this
looks broadly similar to the Toyota tool:

ol---Psa
Could be an expensive way to find out it doesn't work, but on the other hand
I expect it will be much cheaper than a tool from Toyota...
