I am not wanting to condone the download of maps etc but this site has one heck of a lot of "information" on GPS systems how to get the most out of them and some tips and tricks to improve what your system is doing now.
It also has just about every map both topo and other that may need and has taken up much of my time reading and getting to understand how best to use my system.
For those South Africans amongst us it has all the SA maps and tracks for Africa.
