Hi Guys
A while ago we discussed that if you have a CV problem you could drive home
if you disconnected the front prop.
Well With all thats going on with my cruiser I wondered if I can discount or
include a few things while I wait on a guy I got to look at it, which will
not be for over a week.
I suspect the vibs are coming from the front end, prop, flange etc.
What speed can you travel at if you disconnect the front prop in order to
eliminate it or include it in the theory.
If you disconnect the front prop from the front diff and the transfere case,
can you leave it like that for a while or would the driving be too slow.
I am getting a vib and rattle in the steering now even at low speeds so all
seems to be going according to the evil plan.
Do UJs or other bearings have a sudden failure or is it a thing that they
slowly die.
How can a prop suddenly get out of spinning harmony without getting a bang
of something like a rock.
Or where the noises a preminition to what is going to happen on a dark,
cold, wet, night in the middle of nowwhere.
Just would like to know so when I hear a bang travelling on the motorway I
can say to myself O s--- its just the drive shaft falling off, tearing all
the drive train with it including the diffs and we ran over it, or to the
wife, thats just a bump in the road.
