videos of Morocco

If anyone is interested, here's a rough cut of the video of Morocco.
Better if you watch it in high quality (click link bottom right of
video). Sorry about the sound track, its not finished editing yet.
Eleven out of ten for Rugged Guide for doing the outstanding filming
and Waypoint Tours for organising such an excellent trip. (Hope they
don't mind me posting links to their videos :)
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=OU6T9cb7BBw Getting stuck with fallen
rocks on the piste. Glad I heeded Julian's advice to carry a piece of
plywood under the passenger seat, we used it with a standard 'cruiser
bottle jack to roll the rock down the hill. It took 4 hours but
provided much amusement for the local kids.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVlCg8s8xXI Getting ripped off for 20
Euro by the locals who had deliberately blocked the way with an old
tractor and charged us to drive through the "field" next to the track.
I wonder what they would have said if we had offered to move it?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gE9PvmNGAFA A Landcruiser flying and
rolling. Note the way the toilet paper falls out the window.

Andy,
Thanks for the vids, interesting viewing, I recognise a few of the places from our trip - fortunately ours was a lot drier.

Andy,
Mind if I put a link to the videos in MUD, (if you haven't already?), sure
some people there would be interested.

Enjoyed the videos although I found the wall-to-wall music irritating beyond
belief. Used sparingly, it would have allowed the actuality sound to come
through. Just my opinion...and I know youy say you haven't finished editing
yet... Sorry...

Looks like a fantastic trip was had. I am certainly saving Waypoint Tours to my favorites as one to remember for the future if others end up having trips of equal quality as you.

Hi all,
Please don't post the videos anywhere else yet as they will only be on
youtube for another couple of days before being replaced with the next
version edited for revue (which will be under a different link). When
a final version has been released, complete with a proper sound track,
then I'll let you know.
There may be a "Landcruiser special edit" version too, provided I'm
nice to Fraser the film man :)
Cheers,

OK,
I had the sound off first time and didn't mind it when I put it on low but
it would be nice to hear some background noise, sound track is probably more
work than the video these days. One other thought, if you can "watermark"
the video I would, it's very easy to copy video from youtube etc and at
least then it's credited.
Can't say how much I would like to be doing that sort of trip, cogs are
defiantly turning and that food trailer and the tent look good sales pitch
points for my wife.

I'm actually nothing to do with the video, apart from providing a bit
of content.
The film is commissioned by Barrie at http://www.waypoint-tours.com
and when it's finished it will be a promotional video for the company.
If you like the look of it so far I'm sure Barrie will welcome early
enquiries about future trips. BTW, the food in the evening was
absolutely great. Breakfast and lunches weren't so good but we all
made suitable comments so I think that will change for the next trip.
All the video work is done by Fraser at http://www.ruggedguide.com who
will also be using parts of it for DVD about 4x4 expeditions. I'm sure
final versions will be watermarked & protected, the early test
releases are just going on youtube for a few days for comments. If
Fraser has time he may also make a "directors cut" with more
Landcruiser stuff. If there is anything interesting I'll post it.
Cheers,

For anyone who's interested here are the final versions of the Morocco trip
videos. Feel free to forward to anyone/anywhere who might find it
amusing, sorry about the music, maybe turn the volume down a bit :)

Cool videos Andy
Amazing how easy it was to go over - bit of soft sand on the leeward
side of that dune. Anyway - was good to see a smile on your face
after!
Makes you want to load up the vehicle and head off to weird and wonderful places
Cheers
