I've had it over the bonnet once, but not up the windscreen. By the er, concentrated look on that chaps face I think he may have been getting a bit worried

The hole is to let moisture drain i think , a clear tube with a tap on the end would make draining regular maintenance while keeping the box sealed i suppose .
