I'm doing the timing belt and water pump on my 90 series colorado 1KZ-TE engine. I bought the upgraded 1 piece water pump and am assuming I can reuse the old bolts? What torque figure is for the bolts that bolt the pump to the engine block?

Also, I know I don't have to remove the alternator + aux belts to replace the actual timing belt,,, but do I have to remove them to replace the water pump?

You need to remove the fan which is bolted onto the end of the water pump and the alt belts too. Aircon belt also if you have it.

I have air - con but it doesn't work and the rad for it has disintegrated, I could nearly remove its components permanently out of the way. As ive to take the fan off maybe I should check the hub thing for oil as well.

Anyone have an idea of the torque figure for the water pump bolts though?

16NM for the pump to block bolts
