what are engines made of

Hi Guys
This is something I have been thinking about for a while.
Does anyone know what the inside of the landcruiser engines are made of.
I ask because I would like to know what items like BEBs, crankshaft, pistons
and rings or any other things that have contact with the engine oil are
composed of.
Also would someone know what are normal levels of wear (PPM) from these
parts which deposit into the oil.
