hi

I find myself in the strange position of having time in the day to actually turn on the tv and hunt around for something to watch - with poor results.

What is everyone watching these days ? on TV / Amazon Prime / Netflix / YouTube shows / <whatever> ??

regards

I don't watch much TV, it's all in foreign :laughing-rolling:

I console myself with YouTube and downloaded movies, or this forum

I'm interested in the responses to this when I finally get around to understanding how to get international TV on my laptop or iPad.

I'm into TV shows on my Amazon Firestick, recently finished the complete series of Breaking Bad and now into series 2 of The Blacklist.... :)

Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Vikings at the moment.

Just finished seasons 1 & 2 of Narcos, loads of landcruiser porn in that

Everything via Plex :eusa-whistle:

The Missing (Series 1) is quite good (if a bit slow).
Also just finished (re)watching Mr Robot. Thoroughly enjoyed that.

+1 for plex

We are watching Containment, Fear the Walking Dead and Marvel's Luke Cage.

Waiting for new season of G.O.T
Waiting for new season of Blacklist
Waiting for new season of Fear the Walking Dead (and Walking Dead too)
Gotham
Last man on earth - hilarious. Like American Faulty Towers. Agonisingly silly
Van Helsing
Aftermath
Shooter
Vampire Diaries - yes I know
Waiting for new series of The Originals
Marvel Agents of Shield
Z Nation Hmm, well it has to end one day, hopefully.
Just finished Westworld.
Waiting for Homeland to reappear

And a shed load more. I don't watch much 'live' TV. There's some good stuff but most is just over sensationalised or annoying and this way I get to avoid adverts

Look, I spend a lot of time on the train! Download the torrent file and save to ipad. It keeps me sane between here and London.

Stranger things, Hemlock grove, Sense 8, Designated survivor, Blindspot, Backlist, bloody hell I'm a TV addict.

Vampire diaries? Very girlie Chris.

A square box with moving pictures on it while i spend each evening on reading and learning about completely random subjects , most of which will never be of any use to me whatsoever , and maybe once a month freeview will show me something of interest that i haven't seen before .

I too would like to upgrade but because i need subtitles internet tv is a non starter and the cost of Sky seems daft when i know we won't watch it anyway .

HEY guys thank s for that
I didn't realise there was a series set before the walking dead,
Will have to add fear of the walking dead to my TV show downloader on NAS

Wasn't too keen on it at first but got into it and now looking forward to the new series...

When they sold Prison Break mid season they killed tv for me , never again will i watch a series .

I could buy a dvd set or probably catch up with it on Sky but NO !

as far as i'm concerned they will all die of old age in a Mexican prison which is just reward for the trauma they caused me by selling the program i reckon

Plex, I'll look into that

Andy, FTWD wasn't before TWD, it's a later series but goes back to the time when Rick was essentially taking that long nap. It started well but tailed off a bit and disappeared up it's own ass with the story line about a family who were hard to give a damn about, but later the second series really got going.

Plex has made life so much easier for me, SWIMBO is much happier now that we don't have to plug the laptop into the TV every time she wants to watch something.
The other nice thing is that you can get to your videos remotely so I have a nice big server at work while sitting at home and enjoying the shows while saving on the electricity it would cost me to run it.

I have a 27" Mac in my man cave and it's fed via EyeTV with a dual channel hybrid stick. I can watch live tv, pause, rewind and all that plus send it to my eye pad as well as edit out adverts and so on. With the two week TV guide, I just look through the days to come and click what I want to watch. I can also dial up the Mac from somewhere else and watch what I have recorded. It does work but you really need a good connection and bandwidth. I can also remotely set a programme to record if I forget.

But going to look at Plex this very second.

OK so had a look at Plex, but it seems just to be something that allows you to watch media. I can do that now. I just use VLC on my devices and that plays anything. I'm talking about getting NEW media. How does Plex work in relation to say watching a new episode of Walking Dead or The Grand Tour?

I currently use a magnetic link to the programme and download it in a minute or two with UTorrent, then drop it onto my device or play it straight away on the big screen. I don't need wifi or internet or anything to share it.

Maybe this should be another thread.
