Where to get my 100 Series revamped

I'd like a 4x4 specialist (pref Landcruiser specialist) to look over my 1998 100 Series, tell me what it needs, can anyone recommend someone a reasonable distance from North West England?

My husband is talking about "mopping" the paintwork - yes or no?

uHu has recommended rustproofing which sounds a damn good idea as there's some rust creeping in under the wheel arches.

I'd like someone to have a look underneath cause I've had it 9 years and never done a thing about looking after that area (and I never will, so I'd like to send it to someone who has the expertise).

Thanks for any help.

Thank you - looks perfect.

Also I meant to ask about budget - how do you judge what to spend vs value - or is that a silly question to ask on a forum of landcruiser enthusiasts!!

I think you've answered this yourself Cath. These trucks have prices and they have value. A true enthusiast will always value them more than they're worth on the market.

Of course there are limits unless you're an excentric millionaire, but West Coast has a very good reputation on the forum, so they won't be rip-off merchants, that for certain.

.

TBF Cath, rust proofing at this stage might be a little overdue if the tin worm has got established. Hundies are known to be not the most rust resistant vehicles out there.

An update and request. Eventually I went to West Coast Off Road (about 6 weeks ago) and the guy had a look at my 19 year old 100 and said it was a good one, nothing major going on, all good - happy me!

But I cannot for the life of me get a quote out of the guy. I'd like it rust proofing underneath and the rear wheel arches need a bit of bodywork tlc (he said the rust hasn't gone right through there so it's all good).

I've called 3 or 4 times now and still nothing so I'm looking for somewhere else to take it to.

Any reviews of Overland in Ledbury? It's 2 hrs from me but I can't seem to find anywhere else. I'm based north west England.

Thanks :)

I got my 105 series done at JR Classics in Doncaster

He did a cracking job. Apparently he's the go to guy for all the old vehicle restoration enthusiasts. He had a 4 month waiting list when I tried to book in so get in there early.

Thank you for the recommendation! Happy to wait for the right people :) Cheers

Have a look at Krown UK. Krown is a product that's been well proven and respected in Canada for over 30 years and is being applied around the Dudley area by a small startup of Latvian guys. Have a word with Edgar, do some searches for reviews and have a look at their website. They spent 3 hrs cleaning and proofing just about every area they could get to inside and under my 80. I also did a thread on here so search for Krown. Cost was reasonable, depending on use it may need revisiting after 3 years for a top up.

Far as I'm aware they are still operating, I had my 100 Waxoyled by them, a good job and I could watch the preparation and completion...try the head office:
