I think the seals on mine are the usual, I used to be able to just open
the window (up and down) and it would be okay, but I believe the motor,
though it still seems it wants to work, obviously can't as its probably
seized. The seals themselves (all of them) I want to replace, they were
something I was going to do before venturing to the Sahara again, but am
not going for a few more months now.
If I have time today (after work and before I attempt a Ms Quickfit
exhaust repair) I might have a closer look at the motor and try and
unseize it, even just temporarily. Not that it is a hindrance 'cos its
too cold to open the windows anyway at the moment, maybe when the days
get longer (and warmer) I might do a thorough job on all of them then
they are ready for the next trip.

On other cars I have driven the windows in the doors have tended to
have two wiper style seals on either side, so if your window is either
steamed up on the inside or misted up with dew on the outside all you
have to do is lower and then raise the window to clear them.
My 80 doesn't appear to have wiper style seals on the outside. Is
this by design or has something come off?
Cheers,
Julian
