Seeing as my climate control unit was playing up I decided to strip it and clean out all the dust I have collected in it during my adventures. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14816 After taking it apart I thought I would post a how to thread, even if it is relatively straight forward.

First of all pull your radio, ash tray and that other plastic tiny shelf thing up top out (mine kept falling out ruts so I gave up putting it back in place and I have not seen it since) and undo these 4 screws:

Pull the dash out carefully and disconnect all the connectors from the switches etc:

Unscrew the climate control unit from the dash

Remove the temperature sensor and give a good clean:

Interestingly you can turn off auto, which I was going to do if this fix did not work:

Carefully prise the tabs holding the front panel on off and pull the panel off completely:

Now remove the temperature slider:

Prise the tabs holding the top circuit board and lift it up, be careful not to loose the spacers underneath like I did:

Remove the tiny spacers:

Prise the tabs holding the lower board in place:

Now spray contact cleaner on all the switches, temperature slider and connectors (don't forget the temperature sensor)

Now put it back together and enjoy driving your LC without hot air randomly blowing in your face.

This is also very useful for a newbie, like me. I needed to know how to remove the old radio... this helps a lot! Thanks!

As an asides for those pulling there unit apart in the future, you can replace the bulbs with LED versions with a brighter output, think about climate control button that can be seen selected during the day!

So I did this got it all back together and it works! But only issue is that the mode select buttons do not stay lit up or depressed. The do work they just don't stay visually selected. Any advice?
