    Cooper vs BFG Mud Tyres

Ordered the Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ today, was a real big toss up between the BFG's KM2 and those but took advice from the tyre supplier in the end. He hadn't got them in stock but did have the BFG's on the shelf so dont think he was doing the hard sell bit, just advice. Think they will out...

    Cooper vs BFG Mud Tyres

Interesting read people. Trying to decide myself what tyres to get, guessing 50% of the time will be on muddy tracks and sand so was trying to research forums to get ideas between BFG, Mickey Thompson MTZ, Nitto Trail grappler and Hankook Dynapro MT. A chap i recently spoke to with BFG KM2 tyres...

    305's or 315's?

Thanks for the feedback guys, might not bother then at all. The truck already had a 2" suspension lift when i acquired it. Just listening to locals here in OZ that i really need a body lift to clear the mud holes. With a body lift the bumpers are in the same place so not sure what i am gaining...

    305's or 315's?

Its getting clearer :icon-cool: I am planning on Mickey Thompson MTZ in either a 265/75 x 16 or 285/75 x 16 which i think is 32 / 33 inch respectively. Just measured the wife and at 5 foot 1 inch recon a 2 in lift and 2 inch body lift she won't get in without ladders  so just the 1 inch...

    305's or 315's?

I see, thanks for the insight. Looking over the 80 on the ramp while i am rebuilding the swivels, i am wondering whats the max the body can lift with no mods to other stuff, anyone know?? I see the wiring to fuel pumps, steering shaft, brake pipes, radiator fan guard being an issue but how far...

    305's or 315's?

I am new to Landcruisers so please forgive this probably silly question. I was told a 2" suspension lift and a 2" body lift was the way to go for big tyres, compared to a 4" suspension lift???

Well done Chris, lots of hard work gone into that and i am sure there were plenty of times you had wondered what you started!! but great finish. Afraid my newly acquired 80 won't be getting that much attention!! but then stuff down here don't seem to rust as rot away like back in blighty (no...

    Non Runner 4.5 petrol, help?

Yes very pleased thanks!! I got the impression the chap i got it off was a little annoyed it was fixed for around $200 and a load of time, but it did teach me a lot about the Landcruiser which i am pleased about. Sorry Starcruiser didn't mean it to sound like i was offended, just a little...

    Non Runner 4.5 petrol, help?

Just as an update, car running  Without dissing all tyre fitters out there it was a tyre fitter who connected the jump pack the wrong way round and tried to start! Thanks for the reply Starcruiser but the above description was the correct one so not sure what didn't stack up in your mind...

Newbie 80 owner from NSW OZ

Thanks for the welcome guys. Narrowed down my non start problem to a burnt wire on the positive side and bad terminals of the fuel pump relay. Replaced wires and cleaned terminals inside relay and she starts and runs sweet. Now the spending can begin ........

    Non Runner 4.5 petrol, help?

Hi Guys, Joined up and had a good read, full of info and really pleased for the information. Just bought a 1995 80 series 4.5 6 cylinder petrol injection beast. She don't run. This could be a simple problem that someone else has had experience with so thought would ask the question before i...
