Update. Got barrel out managed to tap out bit of key and incredibly managed to find someone on island to make two new replacement keys to fit the original barrel. A result. Thanks for all the responses to my question. I feel a bit out on a limb here and it helps to get feedback with these...

No go so far. I have sprayed wd40 into the barrel and tried tapping the key with a rubber hammer. Also a screwdriver turns the thing but it doesn't connect with anything. I have taken the bottom housing off the steering column but can't get the top half off as the lip is under the dashboard...

Hi Guys I am trying to find this powerswitch for my LJ70 and so far have had no luck. Does anyone know of a source or does anyone have a spare that they are willing to sell. Also is there any chance that this part is on other Toyotas? Thanks for any help.

Well panic over. Its started working all on its own again so I guess it just needed a break. I presume the switch is erratic so I will try and get a new one and relace it. Thanks for looking anyway.

OK this is weird. The drivers side window is now playing up. If I connect the lead going to the motor directly to the battery I can get the widow to move up and down (by reversing the polarity to get it to go down) I put my multimeter onto the connections that the motor lead ultimately connects...

Went to open my backdoor on my LJ70 1992 and it came off in my hand. Probably just weakened over the years. Anyone know where I might be able to get one or if another vehicle has the same lever? Cheers all.

Thanks for the reply t1pper. I will check out Amayama. One of the problems we have here is a very high import duty. About 70% on item plus postage added together so by the time we get it it has usually more than doubled in price, I am going to see if I can construct one out of metal tubing...
