    Technically, no. But to install a new rear bearing with a bearing installation tool (such as Lisle 18000) the bell housing needs to be removed and since the bell housing is the attachment point for the rear mounts, may as well pull the engine. Gary

    Hi. I am new to the forum.

    Have had a few FJ40s over the years. Presently restoring a 76 FJ45 (CDN Spec). Have done many engine/tranny/transfer case rebuilds as well a winch/pto (search Kijiji) and would say I can be helpful tech wise re 40 series so feel free to ask questions. Thank you
