    Hello from Vancouver Island

Here it is being assembled. It fits in the black bag to the left. In the website you can see actual rolled dimensions. Not bad, takes about 25 min to assemble

    Hello from Vancouver Island

here is a link to my rear bumper. Its a Runva winch, I was curious to see how good they are. It's 11500 with syn line. http://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/shaped-bumper-for-purpose.737917/ Its a tight fit, but permanent. Here is a pic of my 40 in its glory days, its in pcs now, awaiting rebuild...

    Any Series 60 Owners

Jente - I just realized that photo is not complete as the factory alternator is not mounted yet. It goes directly underneath using factory brackets. The second alternator on top is fixed, and the ac adjustor pulley tensions the belt. I have an isolator solenoid so the dual batteries are...

    Hello from Vancouver Island

I have the sickness very bad. My 60 is a 12HT conversion, and my DD for now. I've added custom bumpers, winches fr/rr, OME dual batteries, dual alternators, working on the interior for camping/sleeping. My '73FJ40 is in pcs, awaiting the 13BT sitting in the corner. I've gone to the dark side...

Anyone requiring technical advice fitting heavy duty drawer slides

Jon Do you have distributor in Canada? I see a tilt slide that is on the fire trucks. Curiously, I don't want it to carry more than 25 Kg, sort of overhead in my land cruiser. Is there a 'light duty' version in aluminum for minimum weight? Say for a 110 cm deep slider? Jon

    Any Series 60 Owners

I removed the ac compressor and fabricated a solid mount for the alternator there, using the factory tensioning pulley to adjust. It's a 12V truck now. I keep the two batteries separate, run winches, lights and keep my fridge on the second battery. I run the basic truck on the main battery...

    80 series pop top overlander

Pretty impressive. But WHY would you walk around a rig like that and not take a couple of interior pics? Can only guess at the cost, but way up there I expect. J

80 into 60, does it go?

Look for a 12H-T/5 spd and t-case as a single unit. The 12H-T is a fabulous motor and the best choice for a 60. The weak 5th gear as spoken above is from working 5th too hard, a problem that shouldn't arise with proper downshift timing. I've got over 40,000 kms on my conversion and with a new...

    I wish we had these!

Look up Campomatic Trailers. I bought an old 1966 for $200 last summer. Maybe not alum, small tires. I will redo the tires size. But basically a 1 min pop up tent. Great design, can't believe how expensive!

    Cold weather camping

Look at Exped or Thermarest for insulated pads. A foil light weight blanket might help. Get a high quality down sleeping bag. I have a Western Mountaineering for -40. I can stay warm at -20C with an original thermarest ( remember the brown ones, 1/2" thick?) Also look at the low height...

    Winches

I live in Canada. We have Warn as the big name go to winch. Don't know what size you are looking for, but a 17,000 lb is for unimog size truck! At least a 1 ton or so. I have a Warn 9500 compressor winch on the front of my 60 series Land Cruiser. Out back I went with a Runva 11000 XP with...
