Did you not get a cd or usb from the seller. It's all on my little brothers laptop, Haven't used it in a while.
You could try a few options.
Either Google what you need. As the techstream software etc.
Ask seller for the cd or usb. As everything would be on there.
You could send me your...
I got it off eBay. I got the registration key today. From the seller. That's gone through. But now I can't change vim. Setup option Only gives me techstream in vim, other sites I'm reading on are saying that I need xhorse etc.
At the moment when I trying to connect with the car it throws a...
Not from what I could see. Been a long time since I tried doing stuff like this.
But I've tried one way through doing a bit of looking up. Setup>vim select but this way has an option of xhorse.. on my vim select I only get techstream.
Other weblinks have done similar ways of saying, getting...
So I managed to pick a techstream cable off of eBay. Managed to get it all up and loaded. But I'm stuck at a place where I need a registration key, so I'm supposed to send the long number to the seller and he will send me a registration key. What is this and is there a way around it.
So now that I want to get my hands dirty and want to do some work on the LC myself. I want to get my hands on a diagnostic scanner.
Which is the best one anyone has used. Or would recommend.
I've read and heard that cheap ones can mess up the ECU etc.
And Bluetooth or WiFi ones have apps...
So there's no harm in throwing in some well branded diesel cleaner every so often.
I also use super fuel. Have a BP close to me. I prefer using shell if I can, makes me feel better But I don't know if that's psychological, Esso I tend to not use too. but I stay clear from supermarket fuel...
Hello.
I've noticed my heated seated seats are not working. The driver completely but the passenger one slightly on the lumber part. I've changed the fuse, checked the wires. The switch lights up to indicate seats are heating. Is their any diagrams or pics that I can get hold of to see how...
Hello LC owners.
Been a while since I've posted anything. As we know we are in a tough time with this pandemic and I pray we all come out of it quickly and safely.
My mechanic died of covid a few weeks ago. As much as he was a mate. He was my go to guy with regards to any car issue. Tough...
That's pretty detailed. Nice when you have the know how and do it yourself. No one will ever do a good job better than a person working on his own car, house etc.
Like I mentioned on the other post. I got the oil changed at Toyota. Apparently when it came to paying £120. I was told it should have been a lot more. As it's alot more work involved and they have to go for a 5 mile drive and then check oil again.
I asked for a sample of my previous oil. Was...
I've seen lambda sensor for the land cruisers online. Anyway if it were that, they would throw a whole different code.
Currently I had it checked. The fuel and fuel line is clean, injectors, pump etc.
The car drives fine around town and motorway. Until it's under load I think, so once I've put...
After the scv change. The car does drive alot better. On the motorway there's no limp mode, engine light comes on after 70mph run, so it comes on when on load. But car drives fine.
Going to get the fuel filter checked but seems something so minor that triggers it.
Would a lambda sensor set...
I should do it. I am quite handy, maybe laziness or too cold. But it'll save me some money.
Which ATF did you recommend and how many litres do you think I'll find in there
Yeah most likely the bits will be when sending the dipstick down and up, as it's a long dipstick.
There's either a sweet smell or burnt. I feel like I get more of burn smell than anything sweet.
This is what I found on my transmission dipstick. Good or bad?
Definitely could do with a change. Phoned a garage and they said they do a £65 test and then decide whether it's worth a ATF change.
Do you think a turbo issue could cause a fuel pump issue ?
I know that I get the whine or howl in my turbo, but it's not felt like it's problematic. I've read some people have had turbo howling and whine and have never changed it. Just embraced it
I spoke to the garage. Seems a little half hearted about it now. But he said drive it for a few days and then they'd check the fuel filter if anything shows up in there.
Annoyed as they had the car for near 2 weeks and they could have done more checks other than live data .
So I've had the suction control valves changed. On the way to work it drove so smoothly. But on the way back I had the same engine light come on. And it not there when I turn the car off and then on.
AA recovery guy says that sometimes it's just dirty fuel or air etc. And you could drive it for...
Just out of curiosity. Did you manage to figure out what the problem is. I've had similar issue and have changed the suction control valves and fuel filter but I took the car today for my first drive after 2 weeks of not seeing it. And it came on again, on my trip back from work. gutted as I...
I've seen a few vids where people have dropped the sump and cleaned magnets etc. Seems like a easy job to do and for best results too.
Thanks guys. Glad I joined this club/group.
I keep getting told, it's a old car. 17 years. And it'll be problematic.
But I love it and wish I had bought it...
All really good points.
I didn't have a clue there was so much to know about. I thought there'd be one ATF, you drain and fill, and bobs your uncle lol
I haven't a clue with regards to WS etc.
So ,good to know there's peeps out there that know there stuff.
Never thought of that. I'll look for that first and go from there. Gear changes don't feel rough, but you do feel a change obviously. I've heard of people who've never changed them. Some have changed it after 200k miles and never made a difference. Just depends on your actual car.
I only just bought it a few weeks ago. So would know what kind of driving it's had or done. It's been used as a farmer's car once in its life. Lol
But it's probably a good idea like you suggested to have a look at it first and then go from there.
Hmmm
So I have my 2003 d4d lc120. 160k on clock. I'm not sure if the transmission oil has ever been changed. Is it still a good idea to change it. As many places say it's not good and some people say it's still worth changing.
Yh this I did. I got the fuel filter change. But a fault still showed.
Cause I had the AA cover I thought I'd be fine. But the garage is putting his bit in, which I'm little annoyed about considering the job itself.
The YouTube vids are a doddle of a job. Not much to it.
Thank you for the reply the garage I'm using has ordered them for nearly £350. Which I told him were way too expensive. But garage will always say that they only get parts from their supplier and don't trust other places.
But do you think the valves is my issue. Or is it a guess
Only just bought my LC 120. 2003. Thought it would be a problem free car. But noticed when I drove it on the motorway the engine light came on after about 8miles of driving, light would turn off but would come up again on the way home, again after about 8 miles.
AA came and checked, they said...
