Should I trust this body repair

Hey, I’m still looking into 2 BJ40 for a buy and I need your help on 1 of them. There’s a crack on the back door and I don’t know if I should run away or be fine. The seller says it’s minor, is not really rust, that said it below and above the hinge. See pictures.

Looks like a thick layer of filler over a previously treated old rust repair to me. Not a deal breaker by any means, but suggests there may be more filler in the body than you might like. Have you gone over it with a magnet? I'd be interested to understand if this has had a full respray at some point and whether the seller has any "before" pictures?

Wrap a magnet in a cloth and you will find filler under the paint if its been botched .

You could remove the door card to see the inside of the area..
