I'm going to be fitting those spacers over the next couple of days and although I'm not keen I guess I ought to consider painting the tatty old IM coil springs, but not sure what to use that will stay put. Not looking for a 3/4 day solution involving powder coating specialists more a quick trip into Halfords for a couple of rattle cans. In my perfect world a quick spray of rattle can Red Oxide then a couple of thick coats of Rattle can Gloss Black as I happen to have both of these in the shed. Has anyone used standard rattle can paint on their coil springs with any success or am I looking at some special coil spring paint?

I'd be more inclined to use some rust killer/converter then follow up with some black stonechip which should have more flexibility than ordinary topcoat.

Good suggestion. I am going to have my spare IM springs blasted and doing them in stone chip could just be the way. They don't need copressors to get them into the axe so it won't rub off. But on the front strut of a 90, they'd need a different approach
