Cheers guys, exactly my point Chris, Ive seen quite a few big trucks (not just LC) running around on wheels built for jinmeys! Scary stuff

    Steel Wheels - 8" or 10" wide

Does anybody know a decent supplier or a source (new or second hand) for steel wheels, 8" to 10" wide with a reasonable offset that have the capacity to handle the weight of a 'cruiser? Thanks in advance

    Diff guards?

Your a brave man with than one Chris! :icon-biggrin: Remember the old one "god forgives, rocks do not!" That said I have also ran my cruiser without diff guards and no issues to date, Ive killed many a LR diff pan in my time though (even ones guarded), so they must have much more inherent...

    Praise for a supplier :-)

I have been dealing with Simon Holton of Steven Neagell Toyota for a number of matters (not all 80 series) - top guy, very helpful and friendly. For one part all I needed was a spring for the hand brake shoe setup - not a problem, can be supplied individually! Dont hesitate to contact him if...

    Another Rear Actuator Failed....

Yet another rear diff lock actuator has failed! Rebuilt 3, replaced with second hand once - I guess its the joys of using 15 year old second hand parts. Just cannot bring myself to spend hundreds on a new electric motor, I have on board air - has any body done and have details of doing the air...

    Help.....Smoking front wheel

I would have thought the chances of that happening were next to none, even if it did the centre diff would lose the wind up. May work, but to some degree unless you take off the drive (flanges or cv out) from the wheels then some part of the diff will still turn? All the above said, I have...

    Fuel gauge stuck on full.

Hi Styler, I cant help you on the electrical readings but I will say that as you have gotten that far you may as well remove the tank sender unit to check that it is not actually physically stuck. It will also give you opportunity to clean out the tank pick up gauze if its dirty - 30 min job...

    A good days trialling..............

A good days trialling, usual Landie Bashing affair...... on the way home I thought she was driving different, especially as driving to the event she was spot on after I had followed Franks steering box adjustment guide (a must do for anybody with a bit of play - it makes a tremendous...

    Radiator replacement options

Yes, Single core, agree no good in the warmer climates, fine for the UK though. Survived last summer here, being clogged up with mud and towing the caravan whilst on the worst gearing ever - manual diffs and 37" tyres!

    Adjusting 80 series steering box

Thank you Frank, followed your guide last week and had a test run on Sunday. Different car for such an easy fix.

    Radiator replacement options

I bought one of these a year ago, its been through many playdays and 10 trials whilst towing the caravan to and from all the events. Its been fine...

A different approach to 80 series front axle rebuilds. Really?

Just an observation Chris, I know you run trick birfields and shafts, any reason you don't have the 4030 drive flanges?

Heated Fuel (via primer & filter housing) Needed?

I dont know much of the history of mine, I know it came from Devon way when new and stayed in the general South West then up to Birmingham. I had run about 8 tanks of bio through it before I thought better of it! Foolishly I did mine with about 3/4 of a tank - I could see plenty of crud in the...
