Which battery needs to be the best?

It's part of the "winter package", which is the same whether you buy a 95 in the UK with mild winters, or in Finland or Sweden where it can get cold enough for the extra battery capacity to perhaps make a difference.

Which battery needs to be the best?

They're wired in parallel without isolation so if one is bad it'll drain the good one. Replace both or take out the bad one and just run with the good one.

    Windscreen wiper linkage needed

It's not broken a ball joint. It's worn the centre mount enough that any further use will damage the wiper arm, lower windscreen trim, or the panel between the bonnet and the windscreen. I only noticed it because it started squeaking today, then on inspection discovered the centre wiper arm...

    Windscreen wiper linkage needed

That's it! Thanks. I'll ring them Monday morning to see if I can pick one up, along with the mounting screws.

    Windscreen wiper linkage needed

My windscreen wiper linkage has worn out at the center mount. :( If you've got a full linkage you'd like to sell, plus mounting screws (three of them snapped on removal) please send me a PM.

Thanks - I'll check the right hand caliper.

Steering wheel rotates to the left when braking moderately.

1999 Colorado VX LWB diesel, approx 200k miles but well maintained and in excellent condition. Weird problem: When braking moderately, the steering wheel turns to the left. If I hold the wheel and prevent it from turning, the vehicle turns slightly to the right. If I let go of the wheel...

    3.0 td definitive answer required

I'd check for corroded connectors or damaged wiring in the engine loom, particularly where it grounds and where it connects to the ECU. Bad wiring can appear to be sensor problems.

    error code 14

I've seen this in other vehicles. The solution is to replace the crank position sensor.

    a few questions

Your brake load bias valve sounds like mine, and that might be correct behaviour. I've read that the rod inside the valve will be extended by brake fluid pressure when the brakes are activated. The external lever and spring push back against the rod, and the resulting position of the rod...

Thanks for the replies. I'll replace the missing stop.

Bump Stops: how many are enough?

Poking around underneath, I noticed the driver's side rear axle bump stop - the block-shaped one mounted to the chassis rail - has corroded and fallen off, leaving behind a rusty plate and the nub of a bolt. However, there are cone-type bump stops inside both rear springs, and the springs and...

    Propshaft bolt torque?

How many grrrr's are in an arrrrgh? I was thinking of extensions like that at [imagine an URL here that I can't post because I haven't posted 15 posts yet] and using the formulas to calculate the proper torque, but I'm probably being over-cautious. It's not like I'm tightening bolts on a...
