    Synthetic is the way to go ... lighter , safer as if it breaks it more or less drops to the floor .... and nicer to handle ...spool it...

    Much depends on what your intended use is TBH ..... Occasional self recovery etc where you're not doing deep water crossings and driving...

    Varies hugely on the rating of the winch , the manufacturer of the winch.... steel or synthetic rope... same for the winch mount...
