Hi thanks for the reply yes I do have a ticking from the top end on cold start up but goes off after about a minute. Could this be valve clearances.

Hi can anyone tell me what symptoms when valve clearances need adjusting.

Thanks lads will take belts off and see if pullys are free.will try some lube to see if it is the belts that are squeeling.

I have adjusted the belts as much as I can but still squeeling belts have been on truck for about a year.this is the first time I have had any slip.would new belts help.

Hi all I have a squeel from the engine when starting up from cold.lasts about a minute then goes off.goes off when engine is reved.have taken the air con belt off but squeel is still there.i have ajusted the alternator belt but is still there.the alternator is brand new less than a year old.so...
