    Radiator Replacement - Other jobs?

Any oil leaks from front oil seal? Do that whilst you're at is as the Rad has to come out to do it. You'll need a big torque wrench and pulley locking tool.....that nut is TIGHT!

    1fz-fe 80 Series buying advice

Like Essexpete says, probably depends on cost of fuel where you are. My LPG converted 1FZ-FE powered 80 gets high 'teens to the gallon in mixed driving and 10mpg towing two horses but with the cost of LPG in the UK is on a par cost-wise with my old KZN185 Hilux surf / 4-runner. Early petrol...

    Help with Diff rebuild

Thanks to John for his input here. For info (it might help others) the diff went back together with new bearings (Toyo from roughtrax) and the original shims and came in smack on the lower limit for ring-gear backlash with pre-load in tolerance

    Help with Diff rebuild

Hi John, do you have the FSM pages for the diff rebuild? I've got the Max Ellery manual but have heard various errors in the 3rd party manuals......just want to make sure I have the right settings for preloads and backlash. Thanks .

    Help with Diff rebuild

Very many thanks John, I'll certainly keep that as an option - I'll try the existing shims and see how we go. By the look of the pinion nut I think someone has been in there previously and the backlash felt a bit excessive - although I didn't measure it before I stripped the diff

    Help with Diff rebuild

Hi all, I've pulled the diff out of the 80 today planning to re-bearing it but the crown wheel bearings are shimmed - no threaded adjusters, so I need someone with access to a Toyota shim set to rebuild it for me ☹️. Any recommendations......ideally South Wales/ Bristol/ south Midlands as I'm in...

    Re engine petrol 80 series

If LPG is a thing in NZ, why not consider an LPG conversion? Granted you won't get more power / torque but it'll slash your fuel costs for a fraction of the cost and hassle of an engine change......
