First of all I’m guessing there aren’t any/many of you guys with a 150 with this engine. The reason I’m looking at this option is that these days I really don’t do many long trips, mainly just local runs and I only tow a light Ifor trailer occasionally, so I don’t really need a Diesel engine for...
Interesting video. I first dipped my toe into Land Cruisers 4 years ago after a lifetime of l Various Land Rovers, just to see what all the fuss was about. Well after 4 years I’m mightily impressed. After a lot of looking I found a 97 5 door Colorado which had just 2 owners , both Portuguese...
I’m struggling to find one with a good chassis, all the ones I have seen look great from the outside and the inside but once you get underneath them they are very crusty. Luckily my Collie is great underneath so I, reluctant to part with it.
I’m considering a 120 at the moment. My Collie runs great and has a good chassis etc due to living in a warm climate for half its life, also it’s had all the areas of concern sorted out with genuine Toyota parts, however I fancy something a bit more modern. I have been looking at ads for 120s...
At 120K miles I decided to change the Lower and upper ball joints. They didn’t appear to be about to fail but changed them as preventative maintenance. I got genuine ones from my local Toyota dealer
My 1997 Collie is perhaps the only vehicle I have owned where people ask is it for sale. It’s a working vehicle so not pristine (although the underneath is excellent) but folks keep asking me if I will sell it. One guy has been to the house twice this year to ask about it.
I explain that if I...
Is the 120 the same as the 90 Series Colorado with regards to cooling the auto transmission fluid i.e. does the fluid cool through the pipe in the bottom of the radiator or does it have a separate cooling system?
TIA.
When I got my automatic 97 Colorado the first thing I did was replace the radiator, thermostat, water pump, viscous hub and hoses with new genuine Toyota parts as preventative maintenance. I’ve also replaced the top and bottom ball joints with genuine Toyota parts.
I had a galvanised chassis from Richards a few years ago when I rebuild my LR V8 Ninety, very well made and everything fitted. Definitely a shame they don’t do one for the LC.
Luckily my Collie 95 has a mint chassis due to spending a lot of its time in Portugal.
Sorry if this has been covered before but I can’t seem to find a definitive answer.
I’m going to change the upper and lower ball joints on my 1997 diesel Colorado. Could somebody please confirm the correct torque settings for the castle nuts, the 4 bolts fixing the lower ball joints and the tie...
