Thanks for bearing with me on this one, guys.
The throttle body is clean. I cleaned it half an year ago anyways.
I am gonna check out on the grounds and electrical connections in general, though. That's something I never thought of so far.
That just started happening today. And it happened a lot :icon-biggrin:
I'd switch to neutral while driving and in a couple of seconds the engine is off. That happened like 4 or 5 times in a row. Then I pulled over and just let it idle. That worked just fine. Then I tried steering left and...
I am currently using a second one of these - http://www.lederlenkradbezug.de/shop/lenkradbezug-grau/ . Installing it is a DIY job and takes like an hour. The first one lasted like 80000kms before showing signs of wear. I am getting the L size at 10cm.
At that price I think it's a pretty good...
The OEM part number seems to be 68801-60030 . If that is the case I can source a pair for you for £130. That's if you are in the EU but you seem to be in the UK so that should not be a problem.
The hinges are OEM and never fitted. The original packaging, however, might be damaged/opened. Also...
I am able to rotate the driveshaft some with the truck sitting firmly in place. That means there is some play both in the inner and in the outer end of the driveshaft. I was kinda expecting the inner end slack, too. The outer end slack is what bothers me. If you guys can't feel one on your...
Well, the play is there. I didn't even have to use stillsons. I can feel it using my hands only.
Now the thing is does this mean that my CV joints are bad? Isn't some play there normal?
I have some play in both my driveshafts. Tried twisting them today and that's what I got. The play ends with an audible clunk noise.
Now I know I have a bad CV joint on the left side since there is loud clicking when I turn right. But there's nothing like this when turning left so I assume the...
It looks like Toyota fitted two different kinds of MAF sensors on our trucks. 22250-20020 was fitted till 06/1999 and 22204-21010 was fitted after that. I have the former one installed on my 1998 truck.
Now I have a reason to think that my MAF is going bad so I want to test it. I found a bunch...
I noticed my oxygen sensor signal remains constant at idle (it reads like 0.2V, i.e. lean mixture). If I rev up a bit the signal starts fluctuating as it should.
Is the straight line at idle supposed to be that way, though?
It seems to be really, really hard to get one. I got a converter from 22-pin Toyota to OBD II. It did not work on my truck, though.
So I am looking for the real thing now and it seems impossible to find. Any suggestions, guys?
I am planning to replace my stereo with an aftermarket unit. It looks like I might need an adapter for the antenna cable to ISO plug. However, I can't really figure out what type of plug is there now. Is it Motorolla plug? DIN? Something else?
