Hi Shayne, I suppose any dust that gets through the intake by whatever means will mix with oil and become a grinding paste. Grinding paste is used to seat the hard steel of valves so its that action which causes the damage.

Hi Towpack, I believe that with the V8 LC200 a solution to this is the catch-can. I have one and both son-in-laws have one fitted.

I am no expert Towpack but an oil soaked air filter is not the go with an intercooler attached as all the oil would be sucked through the engine and burnt. That is if the oil did not snuff the engine in the first instance. Regards Vince
