A 48-meter high "ice palace", carved with over 20,000 cubic meters of ice, will become the landmark artwork of the park.
The theme park is scheduled to open to the public on Dec 24.

Harbin Ice and Snow Festival
Here are the first "ice cutters", starting the ice cutting from the river.

Until eventually almost the whole river is "excavated" of ice.
Oh, by the way, Harbin is about minus 24 deg.
Sculpture groups are invited from around the world to make a theme from the supplied ice blocks.
Eventually it looks beautiful like this, from the pictures we took while we were there.
The buildings are then lit up with cold neon lighting.
You can go up the steps of some of the buildings.
