Just noticed the drivers side one is missing - the one in the wheel arch :(
I know the part number (52216A bush & 9126 bolt) - how the heck do you lift the body up enough to drop the bolt and bush in without damaging anything?

I helped my mate out with a body lift on his Collie, you will need to take out the plastic wall liner in the boot to get access to the top of the bodymount bolt, it's tucked right in the corner of the floor underneath a piece of foam.

Chances are the nut outside will be seized on so either lots of penetrating fluid and a breaker bar (while someone else is hanging onto the bolt top inside) may free it off. If not grind off from underneath and push the remainder up into the boot and replace the bolt (doesn't have to be Toyota).

You can use a couple of trolley jacks with various bits of wood to lift the body from the chassis (use a wood spreader under the body to distribute the weight), if you have a towbar then bouncing off that can help the separation process. IIRC you only need about 5 - 10mm to be able to slide the old rubber bushes out but it will depend how much the old ones have compressed.

I would also undo the 2 stud mounts in the boot floor that hold the body onto the crossmember to give you a bit more flex. Worst case scenario is that you may need to undo the other rear bodymount and even come down to the next one on the side you need to replace.

It's almost worth just doing a full body lift while you are at it, makes changing the starter much easier if you needed a reason to do the lift.

Right ho, sounds like a blast! Me thinks I will wait till it gets a bit warmer and drier! Thanks for the info, very useful indeed.
I have a suspension lift of 2 or 3" already, dont fancy much higher, I will need a ladder (have short legs!) I think I will get a pair of rubbers and do both sides at the same time. :)

I forgot to add that it's helpful to remove the rear bumper and mud flap which may give you better access underneath. When you remove the current body mount bolt, it has a washer with 2 curved tines that engage underneath a couple of tabs in the floor, you can knock this washer off the bolt with a lump hammer and reuse with the new bolt.

There is no bolt and nothing - its missing! I suspect that the guy who fitted the suspension must have removed it! Other side is complete.....curious.......

Although I don't know the 95 Steve, I can't imagine why fitting new suspension parts would necessitate touching the body mounts, maybe I'm wrong.

Could be that the bolt just rusted till it broke, and it may be that the impact of the crash popped the bush out. Go and have a look in the grass, you might find it...

Not a bad idea that Clive, the cost of the 2 part rubber mount is pretty steep from what I remember. If you look up underneath the body mount Steve, can you see the end of a sheared bolt? Just thinking about recovering the washer and its one less part to buy.

The 2 bushes are only 30 quids with the bolts from Simon. When they get here I will investigate further - I only mentioned the guy who fitted the suspension is that I have come to realise, all the 'mechaniques' here are complete muppetts!

No brainer at that price and jobs much easier not having to get the old one out.
