What a disappointment this end of the woods :icon-cry:

On average, I look forward to a damp Nov followed by snow for Christmas, lasting through to late March and have been known to be skiing up to mid May.

Went for a wander in one of the parks in Bucharest today... WTF...

Even the little 'un was wearing a t shirt, and her mother wasn't panicking, must have been 21C....

yeah Clive, been a real odd winter in my part of the world as well.
Live up in the hills and normally get to use the lockers a few times in the winter getting home.

No need for 4-wheel drive this year never mind lockers. Could have use a smartcar.
Ah well, at least had plenty of mud this year to play in.

Dave.

Crapest winter I can remember. We live at 1300 feet, didnt even bother putting the winter tyres on...

image.jpegThis was 2 days ago,no as you can probably tell the sign has slid down abit  but still put abit down enough for a good play

Speaking as someone who works outdoors in all weathers, for 'Crapest' read best!!:thumbup:. OK for a play around now and again but for the daily grind forget the white stuff.

Of course, one man's meat, another's poisson .... an' all that - taken as read.

I'm generally office-bound so it doesn't really matter what the weather's doing during the week. It's winter weekends I'm missing these days. When I lived in the UK, I didn't really care what the weather was doing, summer or winter.

But here it's different somehow, we're more used to defined weather, warm, dry & sunny in summer, cooler and damper in the autumn, very cold in winter with snow, and UK type springtimes.

We had 2 weeks in January at -18C with some snow, but then it went all tropical on us

Now it seems the Winter's over, so no chance of skiing now.:|

I know what you mean. I work outside a fair bit too, but the cold and snow doesn't bother me. Its the wind and wet that I cant stand..

It's a grey day today, 10/10 ths fog this morning, but that's cleared. Our place is at about 700m (2,300ft) so Springtime is always a few weeks later than Bucharest, but already, we're getting signs of life.

some ornamental trees in full bloom....

Others close behind...

Lots of small wild Violets in the grass, white and violet flowers like we see on the mountains...

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year, so whatever is going on at work (hell at the moment) life is good, as always :icon-biggrin:

I hope it warms up a bit next week, doing the C2C again at Easter, brrrr

the Met orafice was talking about an arctic inversion towards the end of the month, that usually brings a late cold blast... must check the electric blanket is working in the roof tent
