Yeah you can simply remove the vc. It's a couple hour or so to do. Think its 9 bolts on the rear housing on transfer box. Think its held on the shaft with a circlip or something like. I'm sure its been covered on here somewhere if you have a search.
Nothing wrong with a gx mate. Most have been poorly maintained because they just keep going without. Get on top of the maintenance, and you'll never look back. Awesome trucks.
I'd say viscous coupling at a guess. Warming up and slipping. Especially as it moves once centre diff is locked. Strange as they normally seize though.
Was thinking possibly sat 14th December. If I sort the venue it would be up to yourselfs to book rooms if required. Let me know if its going to work for you all.
Well......I know I'm always the fly in the thrush cream, but ....as good as I'm sure they are and maybe the best option on the new market at the moment but I got to say I'm not that taken with them. Admittedly not seen one in the flesh but the pictures I've seen don't hit the spot for me.
Spoke with a couple of other members and decided run this past you all.
Who would be up for a get together around Christmas. Not a camp out or any laning. How about we get a venue I'm thinking Midlands to make it fairly central. Thinking a travel lodge with a restaurant and bar having a few...
Your best bet is to trawl marketplace on Facebook to be fair. 80 breaker may have a set of re powder coated rims from an early 80 so worth a call. Or search up Karl Webster on here. Failing that search up Morgan Jenkins on the Toyota face book sites.
First thing I'd do if it hasn't already would be a good service and overhaul of cooling system. New radiator thermostat water pump, flush block and fresh coolant. These engines are good little lumps but once they've been hot they do heads for the fun of it.
Just got home. Thank you all for coming again and making another great weekend. Mel enjoyed it and the kids had a wonderful time, especially Jack in the little Suzuki and with anyone who took him round. Harriett played with the kids and we had tears again when it was time to leave, from Jack not...
I'm guessing as the rear prop was removed it was off for a reason. A worn uj can start the deterioration on the pinion bearings. Normally does the pinion seal to start with.
I've actually ran my 100 out of fuel on 2 occasions. On both occasions I've simply refuelled and cranked the engine a few seconds as at a time and its fired up easily. I leave it to idle a while and its been good to go.
Pull it out and make a decent generator of it. Sell that and drop a proper engine in it say like a .......1hdt. That's after you've done the deal at about 13 grand less. Just my thoughts.
