So following Jon's lead I decided to install a T'Eyes CC3 android10 10.2" head unit in the 100. What a palaver. It's still not quite right, but we're ironing out the niggles.
Original 2005 dash - dated and no map updates available since 2014. Side vents removed, bit sticky at the bottom so...
Where are folks sourcing tyres from? I’m going mental - websites say they have stock, phone to confirm and to the sound of teeth being sucked I’m told ‘nah sorry mate not got any’…. I’m not looking for hens teeth but it’s starting to feel like I’m after rainbows and unicorns…
Depends on vehicle model. I've just installed a Teyes CC3 in the 100 with loads of help from Jon, and you do get one with 360 cams so worth looking at. The CC3 is soooo much better than the aged 100 series head unit.
I guess ‘it depends’ really. You may need to drill into it, or maybe fit stuff slightly off-centre. Don’t think it makes too much difference rally, just maybe plan carefully?
The EcoFlowmlooks interesting but doesn’t seem to have the option to charge direct from the alternator, unless I’ve mis-read the specs? So you could I guess stick an inverter in -line and charge that way, which seems a bit of a pita?
I put a big country on my 120, it’s still going strong I believe. Now have another on the 100. Preferred over the FrontRunner as the slats are longitudinal and reduce wind noise a bit…. Very strong platform, but not cheap. Patriot for UK made racks, check them out.
Hi all,
Contemplating a Portugal trip this year, remote areas mostly with decent camping facilities (I believe wild camping is frowned upon...). Does anyone have a GPX tracking or route they wouldn't mind sharing please? Or thoughts on where to go (and where to avoid!). Duration probably 10...
From the north, ferry from Hull to Rotterdam is an overnight trip, about £500 return, leaves a much shorter trip to Bad Kissingen.... 570km or so, easily done in a day
Thanks! Been doing a little more digging - the Generals have a slightly better load rating (200kg better per tyre) which could be important on long expedition-type trips. The jury is still out, fortunately in no rush!
Resurrecting this thread.. .
Anybody here using Maxxis Wormdrive or General Grabber AT2 tyres? Considerably less than the BFGs and will go on 'occasional use' 16" rims on my 100, mostly for overland use vs daily motorway stuff. Thanks!
We were at Jetcha just downstream from Chirundu, on the way to Mana. Fishing wasn't great.... largest fish of the week was mine though, at 10.3lbs. Back in the river after the pic
Resurrecting this thread - I’ve managed to pick up a sizeable chip (bigger than a 10p coin) yesterday coming back from the highlands in the snow… I suspect it may need replaced as, whilst not in line of sight, is right on the passenger side edge so I suspect it’ll crack and travel. Who are the...
Thanks Bob, I'm just back from Zim - the number of LandCruisers of all varieties on the roads is astonishing. Loads for sale if you have enough $$$.
I've your mobile number still I think - will drop you a text.

Both ‘fairly’ close (loosely used term) but both use Dinitrol only and have good reviews.
Mr Murphy I need to come visit - you’ve not moved have you?
And welcome David, need more of us here. Would be good to meet up in not-so-sunny Scotland….
I can recommend an indy A/C guy for central Scotland - comes to you, knows what he’s doing. Mr T told me, after sucking on their teeth as they do, it needed a new condenser and HP hose - 2 grand sir. A/C guy tested, checked etc and found 2 perished ‘O’ rings, replaced those, cleaned and...
Buy a OBDC cable off eBay and download the Toyota TechStream . Works for a few of us. Can be a little tricky setting up but once working it’s great. IH8MUD has a lot of info on how to use. Great for setting options too.
Brass wire brush in the drill and a bit of elbow grease cleaned up the channel enough to get in there with a thin wall 12mm socket. Fortunately the bolts came out fairly easily… what a mess in there now. I’ve now spent al of this years and next years pocket money - everything new from the...
