Check fuse for immobiliser and earth connection. It seems that the immobiliser isn’t getting power to disarm.

The later single unit lights don’t fit unless you replace the trim panel under the lights too and possibly other mods. There was a youtube video about this mod on a 105 series that I remember watching by an Australian guy

I believe the headlights changed mid to end 2005 for the one piece that has integrated indicator unit and had a clear plastic shell.

Is there a brake light switch at the top of the brake pedal? If so check functionality / connections etc

Fuel tank strap rubber may have fallen out causing tank to bang around?

Thanks @Jon Wildsmith Yes this is what I’m hoping - that I can jump the signal from ECU to the rev counter. Just received some manuals which may help. But as per you I don’t have a HZJ79 manual so if plan A doesn’t work it may get more tricky.

Thanks @Shayne As a last resort I will replace the rev counter with an aftermarket unit and an alternator pick up may well be fine for that. My first engines fuel pump had a separate rpm pick up on the fuel pump. The new engines fuel pump doesn’t have a separate rpm sensor so I believe...

Thanks Shayne, will have a good look at the diesel pump wiring and see if I can find a way to make the rev counter move using 12v and a resistor or something. There are 2 spare wires not connected to anything so will try those first

From looking at the parts on amayama, it looks like there are some covers on each side of the wheel that need to be prised off to access the airbag retention screws. Once undone this should be carefully pulled off forwards. This will then give you access to the centre nut holding the wheel on...
