Thanks Ben
The auto electrician who looked at it said he thought it should have an external regulator. But thanks for the pics I will go and look at the alternator and see if there's any evidence of a regulator there.
Hi all
I'm looking for a picture and possibly the part number for the voltage regulator on a 2H 60 series 24v set up.
Unfortunately a previous owner has improvised and replaced the voltage regulator with a non standard Bosch regulator.. it appears to be working but I'd like to get it back to...
Hi Ben,
Would you be interested in an original R/H fog light? I'm about to remove one from my HJ60 with the same rear bumper as yours (can't find a left hand one) so going to fit some Pajero rear bumper lights instead.
That's what the guy here in Harare has suggested, I only really wanted him to fit the modified fuel pin I've got and to set the pump up to match the G Turbo but he wasn't keen to that without stripping and servicing the pump as well.. seem a bit of overkill to me.
I want to get rid of what is left of the chrome on the front grille and headlight surrounds on my 60 series. I've done a bit of googling and it would appear that leaving the bits in a de greasing liquid will do the trick.
Anyone tried this?
Great looking truck, I'm in the process of sorting out an HJ60 in Zimbabwe myself.. I love the rims you have on yours, do you happen to know what sizes as well as the width and offset they are?
I have found a donor, although we've not agreed a price as yet.. the guy who is selling is convinced that he's going to find someone who wants to rebuild it but to be honest if you don't have another one that's fairly complete then it's too far gone. I like the idea of a pop top but also like...
My 60 Series has 2 old school pop up glass sunroofs fitted and I'd quite like to get rid of them.
One of them is leaking and they are both covered with silicone from previous attempts to stop leaks.
Anyone ever tried this on a 60 series? It has ridges in the roof so I'm not sure what the best...
Hi All,
I placed an order from tougenation.com.au for a new set of decals for my 60 series.
Since I got the order confirmation I've not had any communication from them and no reply to my emails? It does say on the website that decals are made to order and I should expect a 3 week turn around...
Hi all,
I'm on the hunt for a Hall effect sensor for the rev counter on my HJ60 it would appear that someone has managed to either screw the original one in too far (although I'm not sure how that's possible) or possibly used the wrong one.
It seems to be the same for most of the HJ60s
Part...
Rear door lock stripped and replaced, now working properly and the transfer box output shaft oil seal replaced. Monday auto electrician coming to sort out the wiring mess under the dash..

Anyone tell me how often a 1HDT fuel pump should be serviced.
As far as I know mine hasn't been serviced since the car was new it's now done 255000kms.
The car runs well and no real issues, it has a bit of black smoke from the exhaust since the GTurbo was fitted but EGT rarely reach 700c. I have...
I also fitted cheap eBay LEDs to my Sprinter van in the UK, they're really good. Passed it's MOT with no trouble as well. I also bought a set of 4 for my 100 series here in Zimbabwe the difference is amazing.
I'll probably get another set for my 60 series project too.
Rear diff drained and opened and N/s rear half shaft removed and off to be resurfaced for new bearing and seal
Rear Brakes striped, new shoes to be fitted and new brake cylinder dust covers to be replaced
Front axle inspected new seals needed.. steering joints all need replacing. Brakes good...
I have an EGT gauge in my 100 series 1HDT with a G turbo fitted. The sensor is drilled into the exhaust manifold. I think from memory mine hits about 700c after some reasonable acceleration. I'll be back in Zim on Monday so I'll have a proper look then..
