    Route planner Suggestions

http://www.wikiloc.com/ is not bad, bit clunky, uses OSM maps with contours added (depending on area) free maps can't be bad, lots of GPX tracks available as shared resources, again depending on area. ViewRanger is good, very similar to Memory Map, you can do route planning offline, downside is...

I've had similar thoughts Lorin, kind of stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea - EFS kit cost £2k + best part of £500 for the drop boxes and Anti-roll/bumpstop drop kits; can't see me getting all that back, then I'd have the cost of a 2" lift kit and new boots. I'll have to cost out the...

Done a vid of the lead-up to the boilover, cut the first 4 mins of rolling hill off, and speeded up the next 4 mins x16, left it in to easier get a handle on the terrain, so about 10 mins of hill climb leading up to the boil-over. Was in high range L/2 most of the time...

Not sure how it was tuned, it was farmed out to a specialist place, clearly it need doing again after the engine rebuild anyway. Aye monitoring seems the way to go with hindsight, it's been an education. I do like the height, and the EFS gas shocks are ace, but knowing what I know now about cost...

Thanks Shayne, I've got it on the N44 Response stand at Billing this weekend (raise some eyebrows at a LR show  ) I'll get our mechanical guru to show me the pump adjustments and play with it next week. I'm tempted to fit some sort of monitoring anyway, EGTs would be good to know if I'm...

I dunno Shayne, I'm stumbling round in the dark here. I had the pump tuned as one of the first jobs when I got it, trying to stop a smoking issue (although I know now that was probably due to cracked pistons) don't know what was done to it Trev farmed it out to a specialist place. I know I'm...

Spots are coming off, don't use them anyway. ATF overheated on the tarmac switchbacks because I was pushing too hard trying to keep up, when I stopped could hear coolant boiling. No problem in low range keeping below 2k revs, but then it only does about 20mph even on the flat bits. It couldn't...

ATF overheating in the Alps - Help

Useful post Scott, in my case I was using the box manually, just pushing too hard trying to keep up with the others, using low range and taking it eaiser I had no further issues - just told them it's better to wait a few mins for me at the top than 40 mins for the box to cool down! (I think...

there was abit of a clue, not many manuals get overheating ATF :p if it's not diff upgrades, what's the answer given the OP? It'd be nice to have the courage to overtake something, even better if I could overtake on an incline.

What are the options Shayne? It's got an intercooler, don't know how long ago the pump was turned up before I got it, but that's what caused the pistons to crack so I'm not keen on turning it up again.

i KNOW NOTHING about CB radio so

Couple of things... Those mikes with the buttons on should have a button lock doofah, my quadband had a slider type lock, some have a button, check the padlock icon on the one in the pic, that'll stop accidental channel change. For grounding you really do need a good earth, clean it all up...

After trundling across France last week, I found running 315's a bit tedious trying to keep up with a D4, RRS, and a remapped TD5 90 rather tedious at Payage speeds, or the slightest hill, had to use low box to get up the tarmac switchbacks without overheating the ATF. It's a bit disconcerting...

80 series second battery for leisure, retaining 24 volt start..?

Why? do you really need that awkward space next to the wheelarch where the leisure battery normally goes for something else? Advatages: it's under the bonnet where you want it, spare space next the wheelarch. Disadvantages: Longer heavy cable run through bulkhead to aux fusebox; extra...
