Help with Auto transmission oil change please

Jim, Drain the auto box sump contents into a container. I then measure what has come out. Refit the sump plug. Pour the same amount of new oil into a new, clean (bought specially for the task) garden sprayer. Remove the auto box dipstick. Pressurise the garden sprayer, remove the nozzle and push...

    Breakers

Low life's. I hope they get jail time. Land Rover Defenders are being stolen in large numbers since they went out of production. A colleagues dad had his 58 plate LR110 stolen on Tuesday night, only 5 miles from me. Theives were also rumbled as they tried to tow/drag another Defender off of a...

105/ 100 front bumper - Free to a good home

Nick, I'll gladly take you up on your kind offer, just need to work out collection as I'm not up your way too often. Shame as I would have liked to have seen your 105 and heard your plans for family travel; we have just the one bundle of joy, which has put a stop to most car journeys of any...

You went from bottom to top without winching, and with your drive train intact; counts in my book.

105/ 100 front bumper - Free to a good home

Tempting, I was thinking it could come in handy if I ever need to remove the winch bumper from Wanda, or wanted to standardise the front end for a bit. I'm aware that 105 winch bumpers don't fit 100 series, as people have come across that issue before, so am I correct in thinking that the...

    Should i buy this car

Mileage is not an issue for the engines in the 80 & 100 series ranges, the 4.5 petrol in question will do 500K if correctly maintained. So buy on condition and not mileage. History to support the vehicles condition is always a bonus. My 105 has done 275K and is still running like new, no leaks...

    Lincomb meets 2017

I seized a short notice opportunity to get to Lincomb as a day visitor on Saturday, but that meant taking the car and not the cruiser; fortunately Ian Rubie was kind enough to offer me a seat in his 100 series. It was great to catch up with lots of club members (after my year off), and also to...

    WHEELER DEALERS EDD CHINA

Probably had his fill of the show and Mike. As has been said it's not representative when you take Edd's labour, or the shiny expensive tools that just happen to be to hand into account, but it's more entertaining than a lot of the other rubbish on the box. You can add Arron from Fast n Loud to...

    G'day from Bloodborne

Welcome Craig, from fellow 105 owner. My FZJ105RV is an Oz model which is now residing in the UK. There's nothing wrong with keeping the 105 fairly standard, they are very capable vehicles straight out of the box.

    Repair vs Sell Decision

All good advice above. 365K is a good mileage, and as you say it has become part of the family. I'd repair and stick with the truck that you've know since day one, looked after these Land Cruisers will just keep on cruising.

    Lincomb meets 2017

For the club Lincomb trumps the Overland show, the overland show is interesting and could split some people who haven't yet had their fill of the Overland show, but as has been mentioned at Lincomb there is more for the Land Cruiser owner. Just a shame these things clash, but that's life, and...

    Hi

Hi Simon, welcome to the forum. The 100 is a nice truck, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Check it carefully for rust (especially the tailgates) as they're getting on in age, then rust proof it fully and it'll last just like that 4.2TD will. Good to see another SE member.

    'Pigtail' recovery loops

Good advice Julian. Also, often when doing a KERRs recovery people do a Grand Prix start to extract the stuck vehicle, this puts immense strain on the recovery points, not to mention through the recovering vehicles drive train. The trick with KERRs recovery is to be gentle with the first pull...

    Exhaust heat shield: Toyota say.....

I see Romford Toyota are following the trend set by Romford BMW they charge a similar amount per hour. Main dealers do have large overheads and many staff salaries to cover, so it's not surprising what could have been a simple repair comes with a large bill attached. Although some main dealers...
