I always keep a breaker bar in the back of my Prado, as the above situation could occur. You never know if those tyre shops could have just used a high torque air gun to tighten those nuts in the previous tyre change, as some people are just lazy. I don’t really use a torque wrench on tyre nuts...

@AndycruiserguyLomas is this fix around the bottom of the windscreen/dash area as well? My rattle noise seems to be coming from there. Initially thought it was the altimeter compass display thingy in the middle but I checked all the screws etc and there are all tight.

I was having mine MOT last week, and in the garage there was a defender in for some interior door panels renewed. I asked if it was his, he said “No No, I owned 3 of them before and they were all money pits”. Said someone who has been in the mechanic field for around 20 years.

Interesting @Raj, it means that we are the minority in the country, being completely dominanted by the Rangie enthusiasts… And there is no google in most of the African countries :) As I recalled, there are still plenty of LandCruisers still roaming around Africa…

Found the below from another forum, steps to remove cluster, see attachment. Sounds straight forward.

The photo shows a middle full bench version, for that to happen you need to slide the whole bench forward on the rails then fold the back down. I think the 60/40 only has pivot points not slide rails.

The 90 series LWB second and 3rd rows can also be folded to make a “bed”…

In my view, 90 series is one of the better looking cruisers among the older series. Although it’s not as macho as the 80, 70, it is a good balance between tough and modern. Moreover, mine just flew through her MOT with no advisory, make me loves looking at her even more. :)

I like the whistling of the KZ turbo as well…

The Japanese JDM Prado with intercooler comes with 108kW, really nice to drive!
