    Green Lane routes

:naughty: Bit cheeky publishing other peoples routes without even asking, one of those is Jon's which I shared with you because you were after information for a weekend in Wales, you know who deserved the thanks but other will not, even has my nicknames for the route.

UK to South Africa through west coast of Africa

I know exactly where that spot is Kevin, there was not any snow there on the 17th of April when I passed. That part of the track also has a camber towards the drop, not funny even without the snow  You got not far from the top either. Some way points for you of nice campsites. N31...

UK to South Africa through west coast of Africa

Do you have Chris Scott's book? If so MS1 to Zagora is very nice and easy (ish) MS3 Tazzarine to Oum Jrane then MS4 is also good although the last bit MS2 to Zagora is very rocky. MS6 is very good but some very soft sand (first time I have had sand up the windscreen like water) MH7 is not...

UK to South Africa through west coast of Africa

Try to get some standard front 80 series springs for the back of yours, if you can. They work really well on a loaded 90. In Morocco now btw it's fantastic here

A Rough Guide to GPS Coordinates.

Confused I was, this is how I believe it works, please correct anything which is wrong. There are three main ways of passing on locations using GPS Coordinates. This is the same spot. Decimal Degrees (hddd.ddddd°) This can be quoted in two way, if before the first number nothing is writen...

    33s vs 35s

The Copper 255 All Terrains had unbelievable grip compared to 265 Mud Terrains you had in the past? amazing 10mm would make all that difference? How many miles did you test these over?

    Ground Tents..........whats your advice..?

I have the RV3 with side panels and I'm pleased with it, very nicely made, well thought out and easy to erect and pack away it's 2m long though which may or may not be a problem. I have never ever slept in mine tbh though.

    Tomtom on PC?

Not as far as I know, you can only use maps that are Garmin compatible.
  33. 2

    Tomtom on PC?

MapSource is a planning tool / route maker it does not have the ability to interface with a GPS to show your location on the map, you need nRoute for that.

Who is doing what maintenance today?

Had my two new BFG M/T's spares swapped onto my normal wheels and the old tyres fitted as spares, had to pay for this at the local garage  I did take the four wheels down off the truck, even so I still had to pay £3 per swap + Vat = £14.40

    Tomtom on PC?

With the right GPS, as far as I know, Garmin Mobile PC is your only option for a TomTom style interface to a PC.

    Laning - A genuine question.

I see it more of a social gathering and I always love a trip through Wales with camping and beer  Although Olazz, I really do see where you are coming from, it sounds like the "Mud Club" around here at times, the UK really does need an active non type based overland...

    Freeways Lattitude Roof Rack

It was sold and delivered as 40kg, but I'm not 100% sure of those figures. TBR quote 50KG for a similar ARB rack and then another 8.8kg for 8 legs, but I cannot find weights on ARB's website to confirm TBR is correct anyway.

    Freeways Lattitude Roof Rack

I think so, Freeways asked for which truck it was for so they could pack the correct leg pack. I'm sure it's either made by the same place who makes ARB racks or it's a very close copy. It's plastic coated as well. Guys at Freeways reply to emails in perfect English more or less.

    Freeways Lattitude Roof Rack

Easy dealing with these guys. The rack took around 4 hours to build up the legs and fit to the truck. Very good quality rack IMO. (If you can get these Ian, I'm sure they will be popular) Anyway the important bits, pictures

    90 Series rear door ladder

I agree expensive, I bought mine off someone else on ebay brand new for around half their price. I still may use mine (bolted on) if I cannot access my new ARB type rack from Freeways which I fitted this week, going to do some testing getting things off and on this week  (Trouble...

    90 Series rear door ladder

I have one of these, fitted for a day and then removed it because I did not like it :P Problem being as soon as you try and climb it, it moves it's almost just for show. If bolted to the door I'm sure it would be fine though. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-LAND-CRUIS ... 039wt_1139

Using mobile phones out of the UK- I'm confused.

I did not what to confuse myself even more but I have a Moroccan PAYG sim which I use in Morocco to phone home and I'm happy with how long the top up lasts although when I get the locals to help me top it up, they are horrified when a put £20's worth on it in one go.
