    MOT

Class 7 is a Goods vehicle over 3000Kg and less than 3500Kg Even if you had an "Irish type" of Colorado with only front seats and no side windows and a load deck fitted it would still not be a Class 7 as it is under 3000Kg DGW. All "normal" UK Landcruisers 80s, 90, 100, 120, etc are Class 4...

    USB GPS thingy configuration

I have a Garmin 10x Bluetooth GPS but I don't think you can buy them anymore. The problem with Garmin software is it needs to see a Garmin GPS to work, there is software available to fool the software like GPS Gate but for me it adds another complication which was not worth it with the price...

    Freeways Lattitude Roof Rack

I cannot make my mind up what I'm doing, the plan is to get another truck some time within a year so I'm a little loath to buy something which will not fit on what I end up buying. I also don't know what truck I want which does not help either. I keep thinking of all the pros and cons of a...

That is a really nice Hilux Tony, fantastic setup for travelling I'm sure  IMO Dual cabs have a huge amount going for them with their large payload, built in bulk head and lower profile in more ways than size. The only down side for me is you cannot really set up a sleeping...

Jap / USA Import style number plate.........

That law about producing documents to have a plate made, would only ever effect the law abiding when you can buy legal copy "Show Plates" off the internet. The UK Law Makers were to thick to spot what even a money could see IMO  gets off soap box

Jap / USA Import style number plate.........

Jap / USA Import style number plate.........

Correct, but unless your vehicle is an Import and does not have, 1. European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval and 2. Cannot accommodate standard size number plate. It's still not legal to use one  Not that I have ever had a problem yet  My main driver to use one...

    Grabber AT2 performance in snow

In my totally unscientific tests in changing types of snow today. a. Land Cruiser with BFG M/T's b. Defender with KM2 BFG M/T's c. Front wheel drive Escort Van with 155/65's whatever was fitted The winner was c. The Escort Van was the most controllable and felt the safest IMO

    feck!

To be fair, we have a couple of 10 year old Defender TD5's at work which lead a hard life and I have to say they have been reliable, yes they leak, the driving position is not very nice and the heater is poor, or at least it takes an age to warm up but they don't let us down. I also get to play...

    Hilux v Land cruiser

The easy answer is "Yes" Thats a very wide question Paul. The 3.0 D4D in the later Mk6 Hilux is the same 1KD-FTV engine as fitted to late 90's and 120's for example, 90's and Mk3 Hilux Surfs share loads of parts. Some 70's share engines with the Hilux of the same era and also the...
