    2015 LC Gears won't change

Im not sure the Transmission ECU is located , could be on the transmission itself? There are ECUs located under each front kick panel also. Throttle position sensor can cause issues with Transmission gear change Have that checked also.

repairable write off Prado, repaired and registered

I know its not the same vehicle but I bought an xr6 Turbo that had been a repairable write off (rear quarter hit) without my knowledge. I few people commented about the offset of the diff and the paint started peeling badly after a couple of years then the top end didn't like piston 6 and gave...

I got to test out the fridge and slide last week and soon discovered It was too high for me too reach into, even with my long gangley arms. So I embarked on project tilt slide. The tilt works by a bolt on each side at the front acting as a pivot. An elastic strap acts as dampener and 2 wire...

Found some local tracks last week. Met a work mate there, he has a Prado 150 2016 GXL and his son came also for his first off road experience in his own Holden Rodeo. I made a vid of the best bits we encountered. Ormeau Tracks by Gasmanjc posted Jul 2, 2018 at 3:37 PM

    Honestly, how much better or worse is a , , , ,

Sounds similar to the Aus 120 VX or Grande. I wasn't using those models in comparison as they have many more options available. If you were to compare both top of the range 150 and 120 it would be a no brainer I would think, apart from the price difference .

    Honestly, how much better or worse is a , , , ,

Sounds like the UK models are a little different. Stands to reason then that the UK 150 is better again than the Aus 150 ? Is yours the Higher spec 120 swell @Animal Mother ?

If they are the same 4.2td I would assume the same seal. The the only difference is the 81 is for the japanese market. Unfortunately I dont know alot about the 80/81

Who is doing what maintenance today?

Had a squealing and ticking noise come from the front of the engine. Narrowed it down to the Alternator. It was only replaced 18 months ago. Apparently because its fitted in a 4x4 it has only a 1yr warranty. I thought I would try replacing the over run pulley first as they are known to have...

Who is doing what maintenance today?

Same as the Aussie version (EURO 4). If you install the blanking plate with 7mm hole it lets through just enough gases to keep the Sensors happy. Also a Catch can will go a long way to keeping it clean, best of both worlds. I have done neither yet but when I do the clean I will throw the plate in.

Went out to tension my winch rope today and she didnt turn. Worked out it was the motor and when I stripped it down there was a lot of rusty sludge in there. Poor Design . They were made differently to meet Euro emissions standards(some coating removed). They crack from the edge and through the gudgeon pin . Also the Injectors were not the greatest. They are known to fail also causing the inferior piston to melt or crack. A lot of guys are now...

Depends on which one you're after. The D4D up until 2014 were prone to piston failure. Pretty sure EU vehicles were recalled but toyota AU wont come to the party. The Latest are having DPF issues here. The V6 petrol is trouble free but thirsty. Otherwise an awesome car. Not a lot of room for...
