    Auto Trans Fluid Level

IIRC cold reading is meaningless. ATF level needs to be read at correct temp following FSM procedure. I have a large ATF cooler and there’s no drain back when engine is off.

    EGT Gauge Installation

Ben, I would suggest doing some research, especially on ih8mud in the diesel section. There is a lot of good data from people who’ve run 1HZ turbos reliably and those that have cooked them. Alternatively, seek some info from a company in Australia who offers turbos. You could try GTurbo. 1HZ...

    EGT Gauge Installation

Just installed EGT in mine. Post turbo is a waste of time, needs to be pre-turbo in the manifold. Best location for 1HDT shown here Best EGT probe location 1HDT - [Leaving Land Cruiser Club] Will be much the same for 1HZ and FT.

Low Coolant Level - Mod for reservoir bottle or even the rad itself?

I had the Cartek one. I installed it in the radiator top hose. Brilliant solution for raising alarm if you ever sprung a leak - would alert you way before any temp gauge would. Unfortunately, it had an electrical short internally and melted itself. It is now no longer available. I’ve not come...

    Roof tents

Medium is 200x140cm, XL is 220x160cm. These are external dimensions so internal is less. Clamshells lose a good 20cm of usable length. I am 182cm and the Medium clamshell was too short for me to lie out straight without my head touching the fabric, which was annoying. Internal dimensions of...

    Roof tents

I’d give a second vote to James Baroud. They are much higher quality than most. So long as you don’t get the one with a load space on top they’ll accommodate your bedding. Having previously had a JB clamshell I’d have one again but would absolutely get the larger size. The medium is too small...

It was waxoil. Not my preference but they swear by it and I think they’re all much of a muchness for my application given I will regularly top it up.

    X force 75mm exhaust

I also just fitted the same exhaust and am very impressed for the money. Quality seems really good, fitment was super easy and everything lined up perfectly. I really like the fact it comes straight off the turbo replacing the factory dump pipe and is 3” the whole way. I haven’t had a chance to...

    Rust Repairs and Respray

Repairs are now all done. Arches have had stonechip applied and the whole truck properly treated with Waxoil (no pictures of this last bit yet). Next stage is paintwork which I am going to do myself…. First stage is a proper clean and clay cut and keying areas that need new paint. Updates to...

That looks like good paint. Unfortunately, the extent of repair my bodywork needed to address the rust means I need to be creative about the paint. Painting the whole truck is out of the question though I am going to explore just getting a new clear coat done. The bottom half of the truck I will...

Clearance not really needed for the 37s but gives me a bit of flexibility both on size and width. Was really only done as with all the rust cut out, the option was to rebuild or replace the arch, or just increase the radius. For the front increasing the radius was the easier option. The truck...

Filler on both front wings. This is just to limit any mud/water getting into the inner wing. Easy to grind off and replace if I ever need to remover the outer wing.

I typically run Michelin XZL 255/100/16 which measure just under 37”. I am currently on a set of 35s but will move back to either a 37 or possibly a 38. Lift is currently 3”. Travel is approx 11” in total front and rear - 5” up and 6” down

Front end being done. Arches have had a new radius cut and inner wing moved up to accommodate larger tyres/more travel. Will also stop the little bit of rubbing I had at full stuff.
