have a look at dinitrol site first before parting with 500 squid. give them a ring first. they are second to none for application and product advice. the products dinitrol make suit every application and are the best by a million miles. tried everything for agricultural uses and nothing lasts...

meant to say....im sure there used to be something similar on the top cover breather of the pinto engine in my old RS2000.

something like that. i think the guy used half of the old tube, sliced in two, then useing a suitable bolt and a jubilee clip, blanked it off. not pretty, but works. the breather though was a small, almost 'thimble' like cap which just covered the outlet pipe.

hey Shayne. i thought the case of that breather had been covered in another thread previously? i read somewhere,(could of been ausie surf forum) that those guys, when they blank off the EGR valve, they also blank off that intake and put a gauze type breather on to the valve cover. im sure there...

hi Shayne, posted a thread on the fan oil a few months ago . using the 10k weight oil i think i used 60ml. you had better check the post first though. comes on then dies as it should. temps now never go above 92 deg even when working hard. using too much oil in the fan can mean the fan stays on...

whenever i have welded on a machine, i have just taken off the battery leads. i was under the impression that any circuit through the vehicle creating the arc, would 'fry' the diodes in the alternator. welding over, and battery re connected, never had any problem with vehicle electrics. hope...

good question. i have seen a few special builds with flared arches which have a black seal around the arch. we used to have a 53 plated 280 vx hilux with these black seals. maybe they are the same? thought the LC arch seals were plastic. i remember glueing mine back on. the hilux one were...

if this is indeed the case, is there an easy way of phasing the shafts silver? i read in a previous thread that you replaced your UJ's after vibration. at £10 each i may just do them and discount the worn joints senario. i notice the front shaft has weld on weights too. how come? didnt think...

hey guys, all this talk about gas flow and EGR valves etc etc etc, what can we take from this thread? we know this engine is not the best designed in terms of the cooling layout within the engine. we know that the EGR valve can/maybe increases head temps. did new engines, being driven away...

oh and shayne, where did you get that glue stuff from? just read the packet on the photo. it says easily drilled and then hard and fast..... not suitable on this kind of forum mate.:lol:

did mine recently. but what do you do when the arches have been ripped off, and the mounts which belong to the arches which clip on Shaynes clips(are you following?) snap off? some ended up in the hedge and others are just travelling aimlessly in the realms of time.... er..yep. hang on back to...

i would be very tempted to just get and bleed the whole system through, with fresh oil too. you cant take chances with brakes. jack up that corner and check out that caliper. you should know by driving it, if it is working. it will be pulling like mad to one side.

yeah, since ive done the oil, the fan roar on start up is far more noticable than i can remember. got to be worth doing. i was gobsmacked when only 20ml of oil came out. hardly surprising these fans arent working right. the you tube guide is worth a look. cheers.

looking at the first and second photos, it looks like the wires coming out of the actuator have been severed. could be wrong but thats going to make it almost impossible to get that actuator working. im pretty sure you have a short peice of wire harness/loom missing aswell. you could rig up...

i think you are missing a length of wire. the uk 90's have an actuator on the rear diff which looks similar to yours on your trans box. the large multi plug connector from the car goes into a small loom which goes to the actuator then forks off to a smaller plug for the actuator position sensor...
