Can you lift the body off the chassis on a Colorado?

have a look at dinitrol site first before parting with 500 squid. give them a ring first. they are second to none for application and product advice. the products dinitrol make suit every application and are the best by a million miles. tried everything for agricultural uses and nothing lasts...

    Cooling the 1KZ-TE motor:

meant to say....im sure there used to be something similar on the top cover breather of the pinto engine in my old RS2000.
  4. M

    Cooling the 1KZ-TE motor:

something like that. i think the guy used half of the old tube, sliced in two, then useing a suitable bolt and a jubilee clip, blanked it off. not pretty, but works. the breather though was a small, almost 'thimble' like cap which just covered the outlet pipe.

    Cooling the 1KZ-TE motor:

hey Shayne. i thought the case of that breather had been covered in another thread previously? i read somewhere,(could of been ausie surf forum) that those guys, when they blank off the EGR valve, they also blank off that intake and put a gauze type breather on to the valve cover. im sure there...

    Cooling the 1KZ-TE motor:

hi Shayne, posted a thread on the fan oil a few months ago . using the 10k weight oil i think i used 60ml. you had better check the post first though. comes on then dies as it should. temps now never go above 92 deg even when working hard. using too much oil in the fan can mean the fan stays on...

    98 Collie ecu location

whenever i have welded on a machine, i have just taken off the battery leads. i was under the impression that any circuit through the vehicle creating the arc, would 'fry' the diodes in the alternator. welding over, and battery re connected, never had any problem with vehicle electrics. hope...

    intercooler on kzj95 colorado

thanks for the pics Shayne. did you take your butterfly out of the throttle body in the end? how did it run? just out of interest, did you find out what the smaller one did? i take it you only remove the larger one? i have read it sharpens up throttle response? cheers

    intercooler on kzj95 colorado

i read you loud and clear Beau and Shayne. i have had a ring round breakers re. Prado Intercooler. reply was "yeah mate, you an everyone else with a collie". take take it from the ruffians attitude that the said intercooler was a tad in short supply.

    intercooler on kzj95 colorado

been looking at this thread and a number of others involving tuning and intercooler modifications, mainly lead by Shayne.(almost reaching 'tuning hero status'). is it just me or are there an absolute shit load more of tuning/engine parts on Aussie ebay?! having a look at the front mounted...

    Sprucing up body cladding

bloke on ebay selling lengths of black rubber strip that looks similar to the strips around the arch on our old 53 plate hilux vx. im gonna get a bit cos i rekon it will look better than the warped and ever so slightly knackered ones on my collie arches. collie trim strips seem to rub the...

    Wheel arch seals

good question. i have seen a few special builds with flared arches which have a black seal around the arch. we used to have a 53 plated 280 vx hilux with these black seals. maybe they are the same? thought the LC arch seals were plastic. i remember glueing mine back on. the hilux one were...

    Transfer Box?

thanks guys for your replies. i will start replacing all the UJ's then see where we are. at £10 with the prop already off you may as well do them all. will report back, cheers

    Transfer Box?

if this is indeed the case, is there an easy way of phasing the shafts silver? i read in a previous thread that you replaced your UJ's after vibration. at £10 each i may just do them and discount the worn joints senario. i notice the front shaft has weld on weights too. how come? didnt think...

hi guys. put my 97 gx manual back onto the road after four years of fiddling. prop shafts didnt go back on in the same way,and ive had quite alot of vibes....not in a good way either. a thread on prop phasing was very informative and thanks to bob murphy, shayne and dave wall for putting me...

    Cooling the 1KZ-TE motor:

hey guys, all this talk about gas flow and EGR valves etc etc etc, what can we take from this thread? we know this engine is not the best designed in terms of the cooling layout within the engine. we know that the EGR valve can/maybe increases head temps. did new engines, being driven away...

    bodge of the day

yes shayne i do mean those! at least you found yours, i had to rip the wifes kitchen apart to find those bloody straps to bend! they say farmers have to use their initiative, here we do full engine rebuilds with 12" stillsons and a lump hammer!:icon-biggrin:

    bodge of the day

did mine recently. but what do you do when the arches have been ripped off, and the mounts which belong to the arches which clip on Shaynes clips(are you following?) snap off? some ended up in the hedge and others are just travelling aimlessly in the realms of time.... er..yep. hang on back to...

    Cooling the 1KZ-TE motor:

interesting Beau. you are right of course that the engines basic layout isnt good. i think Bob illustrated this really well in his initial post. having said that, how many new, and i mean under a few years old trucks do you hear of cooling problems? to my knowledge, and please tell me if im...

    Cooling the 1KZ-TE motor:

Strange, lack of brake fluid flowing when hose disconnected

i would be very tempted to just get and bleed the whole system through, with fresh oil too. you cant take chances with brakes. jack up that corner and check out that caliper. you should know by driving it, if it is working. it will be pulling like mad to one side.
  32. M

    Cooling the 1KZ-TE motor:

yeah, since ive done the oil, the fan roar on start up is far more noticable than i can remember. got to be worth doing. i was gobsmacked when only 20ml of oil came out. hardly surprising these fans arent working right. the you tube guide is worth a look. cheers.

Hi Steve. been reading this thread with much interest. my 90 has just gone onto the road again after a few years restoration project. as its a working truck and very often towing three tons, im keen to know more on the cooling issues. i have put a sensor and reader off ebay primarily made for...

    Toyota Prado J9 4x4 problems

    Toyota Prado J9 4x4 problems

i think you are missing a length of wire. the uk 90's have an actuator on the rear diff which looks similar to yours on your trans box. the large multi plug connector from the car goes into a small loom which goes to the actuator then forks off to a smaller plug for the actuator position sensor...

new carpets in my 95 gx?

nearing the end of my 5 year mission to rebuild my 95, i am thinking of replacing the carpets. although its only one previous owner, he was in the same game as me and the interior carpet has several generous layers of cow shit. as this motor will be used on farm, i have promised the wife it...

Milners brake disc/drum and rear shoes

this is what i am hearing as i speak to people more and more about pattern stuff, and funnily enough....brake parts. there seems to be one exception to this rule, this being 'Blue Print' parts. not heard a bad thing on these yet. ask yourself, a bit more cash, no hassel fitting and that peace...

Milners brake disc/drum and rear shoes

hi Bob. been through some of your old posts and saw your photo's of the 're- bore'! i do agree with you though, they are cheap for a reason, but also they need to at least work for the purposes intended. i struggled ALL day trying to get a decent bite from discs which obviously were not machined...

Milners brake disc/drum and rear shoes

    Gearbox oil

Thanks for the reply Rob and Shane. I take on board what guys say about OEM parts as for exausts especially, but where did you get a 3 inch pipe from? is it all the way through? My 95 has replaced a 59 plate HL2 and i can spend a little on it. As far as the cooling issues go, i think people...
