Yeah, in hindsight I wish I had used the stickers on the front. The rear plate failed the MOT a few years ago so I brought a pair of EU compliant plates, and with the back one already on I figured I 'just' put the front one. The whole thing has been a bloody farce.

We're off to Spain and France this summer so I thought I would finally get around to changing the front numberplate to an EU compliant one. I'm currently 4 hours in and still going.......

One thing to note with winches is to routinely check they still work - especially if you are installing a cheaper one that isn't IP rated. You don't want to find out it doesn't work when you are in a recovery situation. +1 for synthetic. Well worth the cost.

From recollection it is indeed just under the oil filter, but my truck is having a Dynatol treatment done so I can't check until it comes back, but I can take some photos once it is back if you need them.
