Rear Door issue - Need Advice

I had something similar happen on a Volvo I owned back in the day. When I bought the car, I asked if it had ever been damaged and the previous owner told me the door had been hit and replaced. I guessed the hinge plate had been damaged too, but it took a couple of years before it failed. A...

    Tires

My LC100 had 275/65 road tyres on 17" rims. I swapped them for 275/70 Cooper AT3s without any dramas. I think I posted about the speed differences on another forum, but they were marginal. The AT3s are quieter on the road too.

    Black Plastic Gutter Strip

I just bought two complete gutter strips and an extra set of covers for my LC100 from Amayama. Part number is 7550660031 for the gutter strip, 7555760010 for the longer (middle) covers and 7555760020 for the shorter ones (front and back). Total order plus shipping (UAE to NZ) was US$97. The...

New member 100 series 4.2 6 cylinder turbo Diesel fuel economy

My 2007 does about 11L per 100km, perhaps a bit less on a long run without any hills. I'm running Cooper AT3s, quite like the drive at 38psi. Recommended is 32psi but it feels a bit soft. Tried 42psi and the kids were sick in the back haha

    Back in the day

I spent the first month just looking at it every time we got home.. My missus got jealous lol I had a test drive in a 200 a couple of weeks ago. Nice but stupid money and no real advantage over the 100 for what we do. Plus I'd be scared to put all the horse gear in a new one for fear of...

    Back in the day

Flicking through some old pics and I found these gems of my engine bay taken the day we took delivery of our 100 back in 2007. Wish it was still that clean now :)

    Carpet Sets?

In the Installation video at all-car-carpets.com.au (see here) it says to glue the underlay to the back of the new carpet. Anyone know if you still have to do this if you just replace the carpet and leave the original underlay in place? I was just going to buy the carpet itself as my underlay is...

    front fogs with DRL's

That's a great thread Steve. Enjoyed seeing all the work you've done. My truck is still more or less factory standard, but I have just started to add a few very small mods. Now I have started, I suspect it will be hard to stop :)

    Carpet Sets?

Easy as then. I have got a couple of jobs to do before I start on carpets though. The contrast stripe on my side (door) mouldings is looking tatty and tired so I'm going to re-spray those. And I have to wire in a switch for my new front fog lights....

    Carpet Sets?

I'd be keen to see the photos too. I bought some replacement mats from all-car-carpets last year, and the quality was pretty good. I keep looking at their website because my front carpet (light grey) has a few stains above the mat line that haven't come out, even with after a good go with the...

    Another what tyres.

The tyre fitter set my Coopers at 32psi which has given a very smooth ride so far. I'll try a higher pressure to see how they roll. I usually push them up to 36 for towing, but the kids complain that the ride makes them feel sick if I don't let the air out when I've dropped the trailer :) VX100

    Another what tyres.

Had my new Cooper AT3s fitted. First impressions are that they produce a lower frequency rumble (possibly a touch quieter) than the Dunlops and feel very assured. Having gone up in size (275/70/17 over the old 275/65/17), the truck sits a little under 2" higher. I have always put snow chains on...

    Another what tyres.

I am having a set of Cooper AT3s fitted tomorrow. Went with 275/70/17, which is slightly bigger than my current Dunlop AT22s (275/65/17). The Dunlops have lasted about 70,000km (mainly on the road) and still have a few mm in them, but the LC is a big truck and they feel a little skittish in the...

    Bluetooth garage door opener

Hi Chas, Here are some pictures of the GarageMate. The unit is the white dongle hanging from the opener, which is plugged into a power outlet on the ceiling. The red and white wires from the dongle attach to the terminals on the opener (ignore the blue wire, it's for the alarm). The other...

    front fogs with DRL's

Thanks Steve. The truck has never had any fog lights fitted, but I followed your suggestion and looked up the wiring diagram. Matching that to the truck, my indicator stalk doesn't have a bezel for the fogs so I'll fit a switch on one of the blanks on the dash. Might need to fit a fog light...

    front fogs with DRL's

This might be s stupid question, but...... ....If I get a set of inset fogs for my front bumper and hook them up to the factory fitted wiring, will I need to do anything else to get the fogs to work? Have read elsewhere about fitting a relay etc? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Bluetooth garage door opener

Electric garage doors are pretty standard in a lot of Kiwi homes, but replacement remotes cost around NZ$80 each if not more, depending on model. Because our remotes are starting to show their age, I did a bit of research. First thing I discovered was that the head unit on my garage opener is...

    Joined the world of GoPro

I have owned a Black Hero3 for a couple of years. Mainly use it for cycling/bodyboarding/skiing. Be careful in cold weather if you mount it outside using the OE plastic arms - they get very brittle and tend to snap under vibration. My camera has bounced off down the road/hill a couple of times...

    Evening All

Did you find a truck Brian? I was pretty set on a Cruiser when I bought my VX100, but had a look at the Toureg, Volvo XC90 and Ford Explorer before I went to the Toyota dealer, just so I had something to compare. It took about a minute to decide to buy the Cruiser. The deal when sealed when the...

    Kia ora

Hi Clive, I have just added a photo of the aftermath from the ditch episode. Still brings a tear to my eye....... The mechanic said the tensioner was leaking a bit when he changed the drive belt and it has always pulled to the left a little when driving, even from new. I've changed tyres...

Kia ora from the South Island in New Zealand. Currently driving a VX100 4.2 auto which I bought new in 2006. Just clicked over 150,000km and still in standard (OE) spec except the audio head unit, which I changed last month. Oh and a few panels on the offside after a tangle with a ditch...

First post, so kia ora everyone :) Am looking to put front fogs on my VX. Been meaning to do it since I bought it in 2006. Changed the original audio head unit last month, so I'm on a roll..... Interested to hear recommendations and any tips on wiring. Would like to add another switch rather...
