Hello and Colorado Foot mats Recommendation

I got a set of those £17 mats for mine, they seem almost too good quality for the price tbh ! they all fit properly too :)
  2. J

    would you?

That should have been crushed and nothing from it used, a Cat A if you like. When modern vehicle parts burn they create very toxic substances including very strong acids which are incredibly dangerous. Yes it is a ringer, Ebay should be removing it asap. Regarding VIN plates, it just has to...

    Went to look at

There is no such requirement. However, a trader cannot escape their responsibilities under the SOGA by putting 'sold as seen' or anything else . It's not quite as simple as that though, i.e. if you paid £500 for this truck when the market value is £4k ish then obviously you can't have the same...

    Hello All !

Yes ! I haven't gone much over 65mph since I fitted them but haven't noticed any difference to the road biased tyres that were on there before. I had mud terrains on a disco mk1 a few years ago and they were horrific on a motorway trip and kind of expected some noise given the tread pattern on...

    Hello All !

Promised a picture ! First outing completed today, only 50 mile round trip but 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs :) Why anyone buys a discovery is beyond me after having driven this for a week.. Needs the wheel alignment sorting out, add to list !

    MOT question re: towbar electrics?

    Good work :)

    battery replacement

We fit a lot of Bosch S4's. Never had one come back but they are expensive. Not sure what our discount is like atm with Euro Car Parts but we get a 334 for £84, retail is £100 ish.

    I've got a 95 now, thanks though ! Mods can lock/delete this.

Steering Rack Leak can it be fixed ?

It's a lot more complicated than most people think ! You can get it fairly close with the string method but I wouldnot trust it completely. The bushes in the rack are new so it's position may have altered slighty, the steering arms and track rod ends are either new and you have measured them...

Steering Rack Leak can it be fixed ?

Get the 'tracking' checked, tyres are expensive ! I say 'tracking' because it needs to be done on a four wheel alignment gauge and not just a check of the toe in/out of the front wheels. You would be amazed at the difference spending £50 ish can make to how a vehicle drives when it is set up...

    MOT question re: towbar electrics?

I'm an MOT tester. Remove the socket and 'hide' or remove the wiring. As it is it will fail the test as the socket is damaged and the wiring is exposed etc. Section 1.9 of the MOT manual :) You can remove the tow ball, it makes no difference on the test, it just has to be secure and...

    Hello All !

Thanks guys :) BFG K02's going on tomorrow, went 265/75 R16 after a bit of research on here. Hopefully get a few Bob back from the tyres on there as they are still OK, but Dunlop on the back and Nexens on the front annoy me ! Rad is on my job list as it's the original one. No plans to get it...

    weekend axle swap........nearly

Don't get too disheartened yet ! It's actually quite hard to damage the sensors and more likely that you have an issue with a connector plug or the wiring :) I'll look under mine tomorrow and see what the setUp is so I can try a different shed a bit more light on how to diagnose it but it...

    weekend axle swap........nearly

If there is air in the system your brakes will be chap and spongey, unless it is something modern that requires activating the abs system via diagnostic equipment to bleed then it won't 'know' if there is or not. It will be a sensor issue, if you can clear the fault then as soon as you go over...

    Hello All !

Hi Everybody :) Now I have purchased a 95 I feel I should introduce myself ! I'm a MOT tester & spanner monkey by trade at the moment, mid thirties and live in Winchester. I'll get a couple of pics of the new beast at the weekend if we go for a jaunt :) She is a 2001 95 VX, I...

Nice Looking late 90 Colorado VX ?

I paid more than what it ended at ;) it was probably a bit over what I would have liked to but it felt right and wasn't too far away. plus the chap has a fezza and a classic fiat in the other half of the garage in air cocoons so obviously looks after his vehicles !

Nice Looking late 90 Colorado VX ?

It's back at home with me =)

    full price or half price

It's a scam. It was listed a week or two ago when I started looking under a different user ID, I got all excited and got in touch :( ETA; Scammers hack ebay accounts, copy other adverts but at much lower prices, contact is via an email address, out of the country, car in scotland etc etc.

Nice Looking late 90 Colorado VX ?

Yes, I see the shocks can do less lift =) Getting expensive this one !
  22. J

Nice Looking late 90 Colorado VX ?

It's actually not a d4d, tbh I'd prefer an older non common rail engine ;) Quick question, it has the original shocks and springs on it, all the aftermarket stuff seems to offer a 2" lift. Are there uprated kits that keep the standard ride height but improve the damping/handling slightly ?
  23. J

Nice Looking late 90 Colorado VX ?

    Winchester way :)
  24. J

Nice Looking late 90 Colorado VX ?

Just got back. I won't give the game away too much but it's worth looking at, the chap definately wants to see the auction through which is fair enough. Watch this space ;)
  25. J

Nice Looking late 90 Colorado VX ?

We shall see :) Fortunately I have a workshop, more tools than you can shake a stick at and an MOT license ;) Price wise, I know the chap is after £4k for it and wanted to see the auction through. Does this sound fair ? My head is telling me that is about right given the numerous rusty/dodgy...
  26. J

    Orange anyone?

It should be the lift, I can't remember the technical terms but that type of suspension doesn't travel straight up and down but in a long arc :) It's slighty apparent on the front as well.
  27. J

Nice Looking late 90 Colorado VX ?

    I don't think I could live with that colour either ! :D

Nice Looking late 90 Colorado VX ?

Me again, Any thoughts on this one ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2001-Toyota-Landcruiser-3-0-Colorado-Fully-Stamped-Sevice-History-/131698647275?hash=item1ea9d9e0eb:g:1rQAAOSwT~9Wk-3I Going to have a look at it later on. Plus points seem to be the history and general condition, no major...

A nice looking low ish mileage 80 ?

It's not the one I posted, it's a different 80. And yes it has dropped in price by £1k since I've been looking. Bit far from me though tbh.

    80 or 90 Wanted

Mechanically sound, underside (major) rust free. Body work not so much of an issue. £5,000 ish. Would prefer auto. Am in the Southampton area but will travel for a vehicle that other members can verify as decent.
  31. J

A nice looking low ish mileage 80 ?

There is one on auto trader with 10k more mileage for a grand less than this went for, ok it's gold but has no faults listed and it's from a dealer so you have a small amount of protection. I still think it got bid up and went for way more than it is worth !
  32. J

A nice looking low ish mileage 80 ?

Well it definately wasn't me ! I reckon it will be relisted tbh. I appreciate what everyone is saying about values but this has a fucked front diff just for starters !
  33. J

A nice looking low ish mileage 80 ?

We will see I guess ! I just get the impression the price is being inflated somewhat... if it was minty minty fair enough but it's not. Anyway I digress. Anyone have a decent 80 or non rusty 90 for sale at about £5k ? Hehe
  34. J

A nice looking low ish mileage 80 ?

Like you say each to their own. If you swap out the air suspension and don't need the solid axle the a 100 is better no ? Sure it has more electrics but they aren't some voodoo that are impossible to diagnose and fix :) I'd rather have an 80 as given what I've seen you can get a decent one...
  35. J

A nice looking low ish mileage 80 ?

I don't see that working though, the high priced ones seem to hang about for ages. At that price it makes sense to buy a 100 series no ? There was a nice looking one that someone on PH took to Iceland late last year that went for £4.5k, I would have been all over that but didn't have the funds...
  36. J

A nice looking low ish mileage 80 ?

I feel I should chime in and say this is nothing to do with me ! And fook me that is getting far too expensive for what in essence is a low mileage 80 with a knackered front diff. I agree that it will be resisted again, I didn't think it would get past £5k tbh ! I am in the market for...
  37. J

A nice looking low ish mileage 80 ?

Good luck ! I'm not going to bid on it as the diff thing is putting me off too much given the price it's reached already, I would have been comfortable at £4k but suspect it will reach a fair bit more ! There is another one a bit closer to me that has done 222k I need to go have a nose at but...
  38. J

A nice looking low ish mileage 80 ?

Let me know how you get on, hasn't responded to messages so far :) Does have much spider senses tingling a little bit, have done a lot of research on here and other places. I'm a spanner wanker and MOT tester by trade so have a vague idea if I see it in the flesh =) If anyone sees a...
