    AHC failed

OK finally some good news. I did write to Agustin Martin, CEO of Toyota UK and got a prompt message back from his team saying they would look into my complaint. After some time, having not heard anything, I sent them an update which may have helped. Back in 2019 I purchased and paid for a 2...

Cruise control in manual mode on auto 200 series sahara.

Guyc, I have done the Geelong gearbox and engine mods. This helps a lot. Previously had to send your ECU to Australia but after extensive talks with Geelong, I am now able to apply their maps in the UK. If anyone is interested please look at...

UK landcruiser with Geelong gearbox and engine remap

Hi Raj, Yes when you get to 75 or 80 it behaves much better but the issue is more around 60 to 65, it just wouldn't stay in 6th. Even more notable when towing. The Geelong map significantly improves this needing much more pedal pressure to force a change down

UK landcruiser with Geelong gearbox and engine remap

Sorry not been on here for a while. I can check this with Geelong if you are interested. Actually I was thinking about doing the same. I would be interested to know how you are getting on with the Richards Autos lockup kit as I also looked at that before going with the Geelong remap

    AHC failed

Well Toyota refused to pay any part of the repair. Really not impressed. I will be writing to Toyota UK and Japan. Very poor customer care, like non existent.

    200 series workshop manual

Hi, I've been trying to find a workshop manual for the 200 series. I found this Haynes auto fix which seems to be a replacement for the traditional books Anyone have any experience? Are they any good...

    AHC failed

Before I bought the 200 series, I did look at importing a new land cruiser 76 from Toyota Gibraltar but I think you have to be a charity and I think there were type approval issues. I notice you are breaking a 100 series, don't suppose you have the wheel centres for sale?

    AHC failed

Thanks Raj, I might take you up on that if Toyota don't play ball. Apart from the AHC issue, mine looks pretty solid underneath (structurally). There is some surface rust which I will address in the spring. Of course that shouldn't be the case on a relatively young low milage car, but I'm...

Serious Mud Trap (AHC Inspection cover)

Thanks Brett, I'm going to get hold of some of that. Might leave it until spring though as it is getting cold outside now. I do have a garage and a pit but almost impossible to get the 200 in there. Even with the mirrors folded in there is only a few mm either side to spare, it is quite a bit...

    AHC failed

portem, Next time I would do the same but I was, and am, still expecting Toyota to cover this under warranty. Pretty poor show if they don't. The LC200 is their very expensive flagship "legendary" off road vehicle having a major corrosion failure in a key suspension component at only 7 years old...

    AHC failed

Raj, I think Beadles Toyota in Maidstone have actually done a pretty good job and worked around the issue of not having to lift the body. their labour rates also seem ok at £100/hour. I would hat to say good because £100/hour is still tough to swallows but significantly cheaper that the VW...

UK landcruiser with Geelong gearbox and engine remap

Interesting Raj. I tended to find the opposite. With light throttle use I could get it to stay in sixth most of the time but if cruise is engaged, any hill would cause it to change down 1 or 2 gears to maintain speed. I think the idea of speeding up then backing off the throttle to get 6th...

    AHC failed

All, A few weeks back I had the check AHC system warning pop up on the dash while travelling back from Devon. Got home with no real issues but a few days later noticed oil on the ground and the AHC system permanently in low. Also noticed that the ride was distinctively harsh. Took the car over...

Serious Mud Trap (AHC Inspection cover)

Brett, This is very interesting and something I'm thinking about as well as there appears to be sant rustproofing as standard. How much s50 and UB did you need? Was the s50 for injection into the chassis members? Were there enough access points Was the UB for the rest of the underside?

UK landcruiser with Geelong gearbox and engine remap

Raj, We are all wondering that but Toyota won't do anything about it. I think there was a mod from Toyota in Aus to reduce the speed at which 6th gear engages/disengages but it was never released elsewhere. Even with the Geelong mods it will drop from 6th to 5th below 60mph but it definitely...

UK landcruiser with Geelong gearbox and engine remap

Raj, It doesn't change the basic character of the vehicle. Just makes the change points more sensible and it will hold gears longer under light acceleration. The mods come as 2 files, one which modifies the gearbox and one which modifies the engine. You could just go for the gearbox map but I...

UK landcruiser with Geelong gearbox and engine remap

Raj, That was Crispin Holsworthy, I know he is on TLOCUK not sure about this site Regards the gearbox I find the change points totally wrong and it won't stay in sixth gear at sensible speeds, worse if you are towing. The Geelong mods sort out most of these issues

UK landcruiser with Geelong gearbox and engine remap

Brett, Apologies for the delay but I have been very busy. So here is the story of how I came by the Geelong gearbox and engine remap. Like I said it is a long story. So I have never been happy with the way the gearbox behaves on the 200 series. It is a pity because otherwise it is a great car...

Amazon facelift 18 inch wheels on and 200 series

BR1anuk, Interesting, I would have thought the 285/65/20 would foul somewhere. Assume that is still an unknown but the 285/55/20 are OK, no fouling?

Amazon facelift 18 inch wheels on and 200 series

Jon, Thanks, I'll look at super forma but as you say I think the issue is going to be the lip for hub centric positioning.Otherwise still looking. Might have to go with something like the spidertrax but hoping to get some info on whether they will cause any rubbing

Amazon facelift 18 inch wheels on and 200 series

Hi I'm UK based and have a 2014 Landcruiser 200, now with Geelong modified gearbox map. Im also looking to get a set of BFG tyres on the car. Not many options for 20 inch wheels and I know 17 and 18 inch wheels were options. After a bit of research I did find that the Amazon wheels are the same...
