Thanks Chapel Gate. Yeah it is a real shame, and we will be sad to see him go. Just can't really justify keeping the vehicle and when we're not going to be using it to anywhere near its potential.
And it wasn't a Zombie - more of a mutant bear.
We have just returned from a fairly epic trip during which we drove our Land Cruiser 21000 miles from the UK to Nepal . The truck has now been shipped back to the UK, has just flown through it's MoT (just a bulb and wiper), and we now unfortunately need to move it on as we no longer have a use...
We're just about to ship back to the UK after overlanding to India and will be selling our 80 series on return. Drop me an email on alex.george.murray (at) gmail.com if you're interested and I'll forward some more info.
EDIT: Should have read the whole thread! Glad the search is over.
Thanks both for the help and apologies for the delay in responding - just back from 4 days climbing in the Caucasus.
I have tried tightening it but to no avail, so will try and find a mechanic in Tiblisi.
Thanks, and I will let you know how we get on!

First off, greetings from Georgia, and thanks to all on here that helped us to get on way to begin with.
Now for the problem: I have just noticed that we seem to be leaking a fluid (we think diesel) from the engine. Not technical in the slightest, so can't explain where from, but hopefully...
Just got back to London and happy to report no further drama.
Huge thanks to Paul, and everyone else on the forum for that matter, for helping us out!

Bat21 - Yes we are near Bangor, North Wales so that could be incredibly helpful. We're trying to figure out whether there's a garage on the way back we could drop it to but if that doesn't work out then it would be great to get an opinion on it. Can I drop you a message tomorrow?
Star Cruiser /...
Also - we're currently hoping to drive back to London on Tuesday. Any thoughts on whether we should / shouldn't be going anywhere until we've found / fixed the problem. Obviously we can monitor temperature and carry extra coolant to top up as we go if necessary...
Thanks again. Just taken it to the only garage that's open and they're saying it looks like a leak around the water pump. Sound feasible?
Anybody know anyone around Bangor who might be able to help?
Ok thanks. I had only checked the coolant in the expansion tank and not in the radiator - very low. Have just put in 4 litres of coolant and it's just about full.
I can't see an obvious leak, not quite sure what I'm looking for with the rear heater(?), but will go and have another look in a...
So we have a digital engine thermometer fitted which, up until the last week or so, tended to read in the 70s the majority of the time once warmed up. The last week or so though it seems to have been running a little higher - closer to the 90 degree mark with spikes up to 104. the engine coolant...
Back again for some more advice!
So we got back from a 2000 mile trip about a month ago and didn't touch the truck for about 2 weeks, following which it failed to start. I tried to jump start it but it seemed as though there just wasn't enough juice to trun it over. I've sinced charged the RHS...
So this might be a stupid question, but I can't for the life of me find information on changing an alternator belt in the FSM? Any ideas where I should be looking?
I'm sure its been asked before, but has anyone written an idiots guide for this anywhere on the forum?
Cheers
AGM
Thanks again for the help - threadloc on order!
On another note, where do I go about finding all the various torque specs? Is there a library / document I can download from somewhere?
AGM
Hi all, back for some more advice please!
We're currently about to finish a 2000 mile round trip and have just noticed this morning a clunking noise every time we brake at low speed. Any ideas what it might be?
We have about another 150 miles to get home tomorrow so hoping nothing too serious...
