    Cruise Control - retrofit

I've got a 2014 Land Cruiser Troopy series 78 in Australia. This year's model comes standard with cruise control. Does anyone know if it can be retrofitted to my 2014 model? Yes, I could ask Toyota Australia, but I'm out of the country now and thought maybe one of the forum members might...

Protecting the vehicle and contents on the road

I don't know it it would work for you, but google Lock Alarm. Its a cable with a siren. Not only wilt help secure the tent from sticky fingers, but it should wake you up with the siren. I 'm been considering getting a few for those "just in case" situations. Good luck Martin

Hello from the Kingdom of Bhutan

So Nik, are you going to Wengen because you're homesick for mountains already? I would have thought, based on your pics, that Bhutan has more than enough :-)

Not that I have one, but what in the world for? Some interesting, secret project? :)

3 modes of transport in Bhutan...

The picture of the donkey reminds me of my LC 78 with 4.2l 6 cyl engine in South Africa. Its not fast but strong as hell. No turbo, common rail, ABS, etc, just totally reliable mechanically, can be fixed by any bush mechanic, and I think if needed, could even run on elephant pee. :-)

    Hello from Switzerland

On second though, I think a poll is a bad idea. We may all be sleeping in the dog house, and I will have a lot of female enemies !

Toyota to kill off 70 Series

For the latest news that I have read (2016), the LC will have some modifications made so that it meets the 4 star safety requirements of the mining sector. Lateral airbags, cruise control, and stability control. Its not as dramatic as one could think, and if that is all that's required, I...

Trump for president - who wudda thought?

And what's the other option if not Trump? Hillary? Now there is someone with a lot of baggage, and that's only what we know about. November elections will be interesting to say the least.

    Hello from Switzerland

Welcome Dani. I'm tempted to start a poll to see what the replies would be if it was necessary to chose either the car or the wife ! :-)

Does your Cruiser have a nick-name?

I get the impression that there are quiet a few jealous wives/partners/GF amongst LC owners :-)

Does your Cruiser have a nick-name?

Pets have names, like Fido, Spot, Blacky, Flicka, etc, so why not Cruisers? I haven't given mine one yet; still waiting for inspiration. Who has given their Cruiser a nick-name, and why? Come on, be honest !

    Waste of a Land Cruiser

I think its a nice touch that the windscreen wiper blades are working as the tide rolls in. Reminds me of a dog paddling in the water LOL Poor owner, not only is his pride hurt, but he'll have to deal with the insurance folks. Blame it on the GPS ! "It told me to turn her"

    Down Under

I promise that pics will be posted! Current estimate for delivery date is 9 May. At present my Troopie is at ARB in Welshpool WA (thats Western Australia, not Washington, USA :-) , and looks more like a carcass that and off-roader. The electrics are pretty much finished (fridge wiring...

    eu in or out poll

Growing up I was taught never to speak about politics or religion. Could that be the reason why I live in Switzerland? :) Our politicians tried at least twice for us to join the EU but we the people voted no. Wise decision in my honest opinion. Once your in, its hard to leave. Good luck...

    Hello from Nairobi Kenya

Also a welcome. I agree with Crispin about Bundu Basher being what I thought was a South African expression. As much as I love Cruisers, they come second place to elephants!

Hi Everyone, I decided to join this online club due to the scope of topics covered, number of members, etc. Its a pleasure to be part of it, though I doubt chances of meeting up other than virtually are pretty slim. But you never know... So a bit about me: Profession: International Gypsy...

    Welcome back

Hi everyone, I'm a very recent member, and only had a few days of the"old" format. It was very similar to that of the the Cruiser Club that I belong to in South Africa. Nice but dated The new update version is great. Modern, cleaner, apparently with more features. Hey there may be a few...
